We wanted to get away for some sun so we picked the ole Tropical hotel in las americas which happens to be adults only. Loved that fact, no noisy kids. We had a dreadful transfer ( take a private taxi which is only 15 minutes) but as soon as we checked in we were handed the most delicious pink fizz and we felt our holiday had started. The sea view rooms are very clean and tidied every day. The hotel is on a road so away from the beach but you don’t hear any noise when around the pool which is heated. Big tick for me. It’s only 10 minutes to the beach which is very clean but rough seas. There were lots of surfers. The food is great, very well prepared and plentiful. There is an endless supply of Nutella my favourite. The evening entertainment was absolutely brilliant. There was a guy who sang songs you know but he came into the audience and interacted in a comedic way that I’ve never seen before. Then we had the animation team. I’ve never laughed so much at an own show before. Many thanks to the trio made up of the Italian, the Hungarian and the columbian. Highly recommend them and the hotel. We plan to go back soon.

Just back from the ole tropical and I must say it’s the cleanest hotel I have been to it’s spotless, there was a lack of toilets one in the reception and two for the restaurant and Entertainment,food was varied always found something to eat pork fish and chicken cooked to order, room 613 was ok with a sea view but shower over bath was a pain to get in and out of the beds were comfortable no tea making Facilitys in room but there was a fridge, the entertainment team worked hard during the day and evening entertainment was ok with live music Mercury was excellent Diago did the quiz’s and the bingo shaky shaky mixy mixy , and now the downside the coach drops you at the bottom of a hill and you have to walk 200 metres up hill to hotel when you get to the gates of the hotel it’s another 150 metres to the reception no good for the less mobile there was a lot of traffic noise as hotel is on a main road over looking a roundabout some times the music around the pool was a bit loud, one good thing the pool was heated, The hotel says it’s adult only and does not book groups which is not true there was a group of 15 girls and groups of guy’s when we were there one last thing the staff were very friendly

A great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff in fab location. From check-in to check-out the stay was great. The hotel is 4 stars. The staff is lovely and super helpful. We went over Easter 2024 and although the weather wasn't the best we had a great stay. Rooms are basic but have everything you'd need during your stay. They could do with an update possibly as other comments mentioned but they were clean and spacious enough for 2 people. We stayed on the 4th floor and had the view of the ocean which was nice. The higher the floor, the better the view. Floor 1 rooms have no view but they have larger balconies with sun loungers. The pool was heated and clean. We only used it twice and each time we were able to find the beds but we could see people were putting towels on the beds at breakfast to grab the best spots. Food was lovely. We went HB and paid for the drinks with dinner at checkin (50EUR). During breakfast you have a choice of cold and hot food including omelettes made to order, fresh bakery selection, porridge (I was soooo surprised), yoghurts, greens, cheeses and meats. You can swap dinners with lunch if HB and the food was similarish for those meals. Evening grill options were the best with selection of meats and fish every night. Apart from that there were salads, soups, bread, hot dishes, pizza, pasta, paella, dessert, ice cream .... you name it. Not a huge selection but I doubt you'd go hungry. You get local beer and red/white/rose wine as well as the choice of soft drinks from tap plus tea/coffee and juices at breakfast. Specialty drinks and fancier wines need to be paid for even for AI guests. Nice touch were the water bottles which can be purchased and water being available at the hotel. Entertainment staff were also great and super friendly. Staff also helped with car rental (very convenient) and there's an option to reserve parking at the hotel for 10 EUR per night. The hotel is located within a walking distance to everywhere really. It was also pretty quiet apart from one night. Surprisingly Siam Park had a festival on one night and we couldn't really hear it either. Ohh and it's an adult only hotel which was a nice change for us. There's a gym, sauna, pool, outside bar, 2 pool tables and table tennis table. There's also a volleyball court and daily wellness activities (pilates, stretching etc.). There's no tea/coffee facilities in the room but you can pay a deposit for a kettle (10 EUR).

“Recommend”

Central to Las Americas, lovely clean hotel with fabulous staff. Service from bar staff was excellent. Room was spacious and clean with fridge in room. Food was lovely, great quality but maybe a wee bit repetitive if staying more than a few days. I would stay again.
