“Absolutely fantastic holiday”

“Another great stop”

We have stayed at the hotel 4 times in the last 18 months and rebooking again for July 24 having just returned this month. People say the staff here are great, how wrong can they be? We have stayed at the hotel 4 times in the last 18 months and rebooking again for July 24 having just returned this month. People say the staff here are great, how wrong can they be? The staff here are outstanding, from reception to the house keeping. Special thank you to Diaz, Giovanna, Jenesys and Nicole, these people made are stay even better than it was in March. Words can not explain how helpful and, pleasant they were 😍.The animation team are fantastic, they have a talent and know how to get a party going. Our house keeping team never failed to keep the room spotless. It is definitely a little more lively since becoming a adult only hotel, one person individual on this visit did try to spoil it for others, however this was dealt with robustly by management, and rightly so as he put himself and other in danger by climbing between balconies three storeys up. My only complaint is that on our last evening meal whilst half board we were informed that water which we had from the machines, was not free and needed to be paid for, which in my opinion was not an issue however i do think that water should be available for all meals at no charge, when asked if I could bring water in on my next visit no one was sure if this would be allowed. This would not deter us from staying again as we found the hotel to be clean, food was good and again I cannot thank the staff enough, looking forward to seeing them all again soon. An extra little touch on our arrival this time was the upgrade of the room, thank you to the management for this.

We spent two weeks at Ole Tropical on a couples break hoping for a chilled relaxing holiday. Check in during the early hours was welcoming and we were even offered food and drink which was lovely. In fact the staff without exception and throughout the holiday were completely amazing and really are the best of this hotel. They should be proud. Everyone is helpful, friendly and just plain nice. The food too we found great. In fact I would go as far as to rate it amongst some of the best in all inclusive similar rated hotels we have stayed in. Fresh fish, poultry and meat cooked to order each night, salads, local dishes, all really tasty and very well cooked The hotel was also extremely clean and although the room was tired, it was serviced and kept spotless every day. Unfortunately the hotel was let down by its lack of peace and relaxation. It is situated on a busy road and roundabout and there is constant noise from traffic, horns etc day and night. As other reviewers have also mentioned the hotel is also very close to the nightclubs of the Veronica Strip, which is not what we had been led to believe and we heard the constant bass sound and revelry through the night. Luckily we were able to cover this with the sound of the air conditioner on all night! The other problem was that again as mentioned by a previous review, Friday to Tuesday is stag/hen party weekend and there were various large parties arriving over both the weekends we were there. We had assumed (wrongly it seems) that an adult only hotel would be couples like ourselves and there were a lot like us. Unfortunately the two groups don’t really mix. Purely the hotels fault! Of course stag/hen parties want to have fun/make noise/get drunk -why not? But the hotel can’t have it both ways and advertise this as a relaxing hotel too. It’s not fair to anyone and then no one is enjoying the sort of holiday they wanted. The hotel needs to work out who their demographic client group is

Myself and my wife stayed recently stayed 14 nights at the Ole Tropical. All the staff are exemplary, friendly, obliging, nothing too much trouble, the hotel is very clean, rooms were serviced every single day to a high standard. The food was of a good standard , varied & tasty, the restaurant staff, again, very nice, everything constantly replenished. I feel however that this hotel is mis advertised, and also poorly managed. I think the ‘adults only’ aspect would imply to most people, not all but most, that it would appeal to clientele seeking a relaxing holiday. The hotel is situated on a VERY busy roundabout, busy 24/7, one complete side of the hotel faces this roundabout. I can assure you that you will hear traffic if facing this side all during the night. The hotel is also situated next to a dis used quarry and is much much closer to the ‘Veronica strip’ than people are led to believe. Many of these nightclubs close at 06.00am, you are very easily within close enough proximity to hear constant music beat all during the night, hotel being 10 minute walk from this area. The hotel also caters for large singe sex male and female stag and hen parties, I appreciate, of course, they are out for a good time, but these parties do not mix whatsoever with holidaymakers seeking a relaxing holiday, think - noise, early hours noise, daytime noise, swearing, marajuana, many reviews here on trip advisor mention this and the hotel management makes no response to it (see response below). Extra income for the hotel but making for an unpleasant experience for your holiday. It’s also worth stating that the evening ‘entertainment’ begins around 9pm and finished around 10.15 (every single night), nothing whatsoever after it, the atmosphere is akin to last orders at the pub afterwards, lights on, atmosphere dead. We had two quiz nights during our entire 14 day holiday and the second quiz was the same questions as the first quiz?? The quality of the cocktails is extremely poor and tastes like children’s juices, I guarantee you could drink 5 pints of it and not feel any effects. Regarding any of the all inclusive drinks on offer I would also like to add there is zero information as to what’s available, nothing whatsoever. We chose this holiday based on its many excellent Tripadvisor reviews. We personally very felt very misled by this. Both my wife are well traveled, not over expectant regarding anything, but feel the hotel was completely mid advertised and do wonder where people whom really rate this hotel have stayed before. We definitely wouldn’t return.
