Just returned from a 5 night stay in the villa romana with my wife. First the good points the hotel is very clean and rooms cleaned every day we thought the food was great particularly the evening meal, hotel was not full as school holidays had ended no problem with queues in the restaurant or getting a sun bed. The rooms are basic and need an upgrade beds are really comfortable but no kettle so if you want a cup of tea in your room take a kettle with you.Tv in room but no bbc 1 which was strange there was itv 1 itv2 itv3 and bbc2 spoke to reception about it but no joy. Overall a great stay but we were lucky weather was great and hotel was not full would be a different story in July and August I think.

Just returned from a 7 night stay with my husband and our 3 year old. Overall pretty satisfied with the hotel but can imagine my opinion of that would be different in peak season. The rooms are small, dated and basic but the main thing is they are clean and the maids come every day. The pool area/sunbed situation i see from previous reviews is a major problem but for us it wasn’t. Yes people were reserving beds on a morning but we always managed to get one although can totally see this would be a nightmare in July/Aug time. Good sized pool and little splash area plus slides, I would say though that certain areas of the pool especially the shallow end where the steps are is pretty grubby and all needs a good clean with mouldy silicone and grout. There is entertainment on throughout the day which changes day by day such as bingo, water polo, inflatable slide. All 3 of us actually got sick at points during the holiday but obviously cannot pinpoint that to the hotel. Food was average and always barely warm. There was always a variety but it was just okay. We were half board and the good thing is you can change dinner for lunch and vice versa. Location of hotel is spot on, close to the main centre and within walking distance to the theme park/water park. Staff including entertainment staff are very friendly and fab with the kids. Overall I would say the hotel is decent but could do with a little TLC here and there, nothing that would put me off returning though.

We stayed here last week, 2 adults 2 kids, on arrival from was tiny, managed to upgrade to a junior suite room (slightly bigger) No kettle so hired one from reception, rooms very basic, but were cleaned every day in fairness Food for us was a let down, barely warm, we ended up heating all our food in the microwave in the restaurant All 4 of us had sickness during the week, can’t blame the food as we all ate differently but there was definitely a bug or something going around Good location, and staff friendly enough, no drama with sun loungers although annoying that some get reserved and you don’t see anyone on them all day but nothing done 🤷‍♂️ Would we stay again, probably not, the sickness really got to us all and ruined the week Mosquitos everywhere my Mrs got eaten alive, me being diabetic wasn’t to their taste
