“Fabulous week in the sun”

I travelled with my adult son for a relaxing week in the sun. The rooms were of good quality, probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in and beautiful views of the cove and beach. We were given 2 small bottles of water, we popped to the local spa and stocked up for the week. The area is beautiful, not a lot going on, but to be fair, we knew this and weren't looking for bars etc. The beach is gorgeous and we spent the full week there. We didn't join in with the fun around the pool as chose to spend our week on the beach, however we could see that the animation team worked super hard to engage people in activities. All staff that we encountered were happy, smiley, and very helpful, including the lifeguard on the beach. The food was....OK, yes I've been to other 4 star hotels where the food was better but for the price we paid did not go hungry and could always find something to eat. Overall, I think that this is a lovely hotel, indeed we are thinking of returning at the end of September. I would recommend.

Super room, block 2 , beach view .AMAZING BIG BED! Beautiful quiet cove location, modern and smart. Bathroom great and supplied with all toiletires. Takes couple of days to find routes around hotel as quirky but lovely layout. Entertainment staff friendly and casual. Saw some evening entertainment and was fine. Bars great, sunbeds great. If you want full sun all day, get a bed by the sea in the corner, else the pine trees around will shade you. Top pool was chic pool, again pine tree cover but felt near a kids pool and kids club play area meant the acoustics were a bit kiddyfied, so if not travelling with kids, use beach pool or beach. Food….. hmmmm. I’m happy with what I paid for my holiday but food was ok, really just, ok. Dare I say not enough available/choice as in empty trays…..What was there was ‘fine’ but struggled a couple of nights to fill up (and we are not big eaters). I would love to say, as a lover of Barceló hotels that food was amazing, but it was just ‘ok’. We were all inclusive, drinks good and variety. Beach is lovely, the council cleared seaweed whilst we were there. Clear waters. The beach cocktail bar you must try, and to eat there too (not linked to hotel). Friendly, cool vibe music, and I dont know how they produce the food they do from their shack. There is a supermarket a minute walk from hotel main reception or over the other side of the cove up steps, this is good to get your step count in! Also up steps are three food/bars. Otherwise u need to walk/taxi to magaluf. We found this lovely of a morning, but would not want to go there at night. Transfers: if u can, do taxi. You could be lucky and get a mini bus tfr like we did on way, but on way back we had a whole coast arrive empty, us first on it and a two hour tfr which would have taken 25 mins in taxi. If I saw the pirate hotel in magaluf once, I saw it six times picking others up, we spent 1hr 20 before we even drove away from magaluf….. if you want early morning sun, pick the hotel opposite (we have stayed there too), you do have to chase the sun at the Occidental. Pool towels, 15. Euro deposit each return on return of towel, if u pay by card, your refund will be in cash to be aware. All in all for us, a 4 night break, from our local airport, to an all inclusive hotel, was pretty much perfect. Ooh, and main beach pool seemed to be heated too! And you MUST MUST watch the sunrise , 6.36am in mid May. I took my opportunity to reserve my sunbeds with towels to watch this spectacle each day, a peaceful start to my day…….

“Work in progress”

Overall a nice Hotel/Resort. Staff is friendly and really trying their best. Kitchen is probably a little bit understaffed as the quality of the buffet is lacking some creativity and love. Room was very nice, good bed and beautifull view ( Seaside View building 3)
