Customer service was great! Central place and easy parking! Everything that we asked for we received and were just easy transactions! It was our daughter’s wedding and they really went above and beyond!

Oaks Sydney Goldsbrough Suites Having had a very bad experience with previously booked accommodation we had booked via booking.co we were desperate to find somewhere to stay. We saw this huge building, it was originally a wool store, the first one built at Pyrmont in 1883. So my husband went to enquire and actually view available apartments. He was shown a couple and we agreed to a week in a two bedroom suite on the 11th floor. It was very suitable for us. On each floor A long open corridor led along the whole length of the building, with doors off to each apartment. This was sometimes a bit noisy at night as the window in our second bedroom actually looked out onto the long internal corridor of the building, so dependant on people out there. Coming into our apartment a short corridor and a bedroom on left. This was dark and airless as opening the blinds would give everyone passing by a view into that bedroom. The apartment then opened out to a large living room and small open plan kitchen. The kitchen had a microwave, dishwasher, oven and ceramic hob, also a very good large refrigerator. The living room had a small balcony with table and two chairs. Our apartment was very high up and view was of the Anzac bridge to our right and far left was Sydney Airport. The only noise was a busy expressway which never became quiet, but we easily got used to it. Then there was a double bedroom with another balcony. We put the airer with washing on it out there to dry. The bathroom had walk in corner shower also bath etc. then another small room with top loader washing machine a sink and a tumble drier. We had a problem with the tv and within half an hour a new one was delivered and installed. We only had housekeeping in a weekly visit but every day we asked at reception for dishwasher or washing machine sheets, toilet rolls etc. as needed and they provided them happily. The staff at Reception always smiled and greeted us and were very approachable and obliging. We enjoyed staying here and the location. If you wanted to cater for yourself there is a Cole’s & Liquorland a couple of streets away and a large Woolworths a little further. Being just a street away from Darling harbour, the nearby Aquarium, the Light Rail stop is beside the car park leading to Goldsbrough block, and a short walk to Pyrmont Ferry. Also easy walk to Chinatown, Paddy’s Markets, or across Pyrmont Bridge to Town Hall, QVB and CBD. You could never get bored. As others have said, apartment was a bit “tired” some chipping and scuffing of decor and not immaculately cleaned, but we extended our stay to two weeks and then a few more days . We will definitely be staying here again.

We booked this before we left the UK and signed up for their loyalty programme which might have given us a small discount; I didn’t find their website/booking easy to use and having booked 6 nights initially I wanted to add a 7th, but gave up in the end as it was too difficult to do. We took a bit of a chance with the location as we don’t know Sydney at all; turned out to be a great location and it was easy to access the rest of Sydney either walking or using public transport (there is a tram stop nearby; Sydney public transport is insanely cheap). We booked a one-bedroom apartment which was spacious and well appointed; the kitchen has everything you would need to cook a full meal and they outcome you with washing-up liquid and dishwasher tabs. The apartment was a little faded and paintwork chipped in places but it was clean and tidy. There is good WiFi and air conditioning, a washing machine and dryer and they provide you with some detergent. We had a small balcony with a table and two chairs; these were covered in cigarette ash and we needed to give them a good wipe down. The hotel itself is large (a converted wool storage building) and old and some windows are internal (our bedroom window overlooked the main corridor for our floor). There are lifts to all floors but stairs into the hotel itself (maybe there is a more accessible entrance?) and the lifts were a little slow at times. We managed to add an extra night when we checked in but were initially quoted $695 for the night which we balked at when they were able to reduce to $400. If you can get a stay at a good price I can definitely recommend this hotel.
