“Lovely hotel with great location”

Stayed for a short break with the family. Rooms were next to each other, both were a good size and cleaned daily to a high standard. Stayed for a short break with the family. Rooms were next to each other, both were a good size and cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast offered a good selection and you could actually get a decent colour on the toast using the toaster. Fruit smoothie was tasty and service was great. We were able to store our luggage before checking in and once we’d checked out which was really convenient. Staff really helpful.

“Absolutely delighted”

We arrived at 12 and were able to get into our room which is so lucky. The chap at reception Jose Carlos was charming. Our room is perfect for 3 (family). All excellent single beds w excellent linens. Really delighted w the room. We were asking about a restaurant and the elegant manageress... more

We arrived at 12 and were able to get into our room which is so lucky. The chap at reception Jose Carlos was charming. Our room is perfect for 3 (family). All excellent single beds w excellent linens. Really delighted w the room. We were asking about a restaurant and the elegant manageress came out of her office to advise us. Above and beyond. The hotel one stop on the excellent airport bus (3 Euros). A 15 min walk to the Guggenheim. The hotel is in a lovely neighbourhood. So tidy w lots of bars and cafes. So glad we stayed here. Bilbao is beautiful and empty in November. Locals so friendly and as a Londoner it’s so reasonable.

“Well situated quiet hotel”

Stayed two nights in September in their deluxe room with river view on the 4th floor. Super comfortable with a large bathroom and plenty of bedroom space . Stayed two nights in September in their deluxe room with river view on the 4th floor. Super comfortable with a large bathroom and plenty of bedroom space . "Coloured" balcony with windows that opened and a comfortable chair with footstool. Great views to the bridge and the river ..and a short walk to the Guggenheim. The first night we took a walk to the Old Town and had dinner ...lots of choice but some were taking bookings only. The hotel does not have a restaurant BUT a short walk way from the hotel is the Conde Duque hotel and that has a good restaurant with a fixed price menu ..and the meal was good . Breakfast at the hotel was very busy ...quiet a few tour groups ..though the staff were constantly refilling the breakfast selection . The breakfast for us was just OK . So a quiet hotel .. at least our room was . Well situated if you don't want to be in the Old Town.

Conveniently located, but diminished by unnecessary gimmicks. We had reserved a room with a view, which had an unexpected downside. The coloured glass of the windows envelops the entire room with an unwelcome and strong colour. It adds no value, but diminishes the experience of the view. It made it impossible to tell what anything looked like in natural light. The size of the room was comfortable, but the room was extremely hot and the only way to cool it down was to open the windows. The aircon was not temperature controlled- it simply pumps out cold air in summer and warm air in winter. So it was impossible to control. It was also noisy. The lighting in the bathroom was poor- so applying makeup was impossible. I am always reluctant to make comments about the proficiency of language skills, but the woman on reception who checked us in was barely conversant in English. Given that she works in hospitality, on reception greeting guests, she should have a good working knowledge of key languages. Other staff were much more proficient. Breakfast options are very limited for guests who are gluten intolerant. A rating of two and a half would have been fair. But to give it two seemed to extreme. Three is generous... If we returned to Bilbao we would not stay here.
