This resort is amazing, exceptional and state of the art. The staff was so friendly and helpful. There were two gentlemen in specific who helped me set up our room with a surprise gift for my girlfriend's birthday. These gentlemen are the type of people who make your trip extra special. I'd like to thank Mr. Rishi and Mr. Travis Hamilton for their hospitality and professionalism. The food, drinks, and the room was outstanding!

“Fun Weekend”

Stayed at this hotel for a girls weekend. It’s a beautiful hotel. We checked in on a Friday. Wasn’t too busy. Our rooms were a pretty far walk from the Lobby. Stayed at this hotel for a girls weekend. It’s a beautiful hotel. We checked in on a Friday. Wasn’t too busy. Our rooms were a pretty far walk from the Lobby. We had to pass the ballrooms to get to the elevator. The rooms had nice ocean views. One better than the other. One had a view of the golf course and the other had a view of the hotel roof which was a bit loud. Pool area was really nice and had a nice pool bar. Food was good. Our server Christian was great and gave us great recommendations for dinner in Newport. The reveal lounge was a fun bar that plays great music. Overall was a fun experience. Would stay here again.

We have now stayed at VEA Newport several times. I’ve love coming to this hotel. The rooms are perfect, beds and pillows top notch ( and I’m super picky) I like and know quality. The staff is by far the nicest and most genuine Marriot, or marriot partner staff I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I’m not sure if it’s because they are Newport naitives but they are so sweet and so helpful which makes you want to tip more and come back. I have come with my kids, with my friends, and with my husband a few times on our own: it’s got q fantastic pool and incredible location in relation to everything. You can walk to the mall across the street to eat, shop, or h ah out by the fountains. The only reason I chose to give one star off is because of the pool chairs being unavailable on a few of my trips and I’ve heard from others the same. Those tripe were with kids so that made it difficult. No seats or umbrellas with kids is a disaster. A couple of the trips were different but most likely because of weather not being as good at the time. It seems to be a locals hang out so there may be many people hanging out and not sleeping there. The other reason for docking a star is also parking. I’m in La, I may as well Uber to the hotel instead of valet parking. But I had a friend meet me there just to hang out and really there should be some guest parking or hourly rate. $55 is a little steep especially when I’m spending a lot on food/service and tips. Other than those two minor details this hotel is pretty perfect!

The VEA is a very nice property and fully refurbished. The staff are great and the ambiance is very nice. It has a great location across the street from Nordstrom at Fashion Island. But, I don't think we will stay here again. Here are my reasons why: No self-parking. Valet only and it is $60 a day. We asked for a quiet room and were placed in a tower on the other side of the convention space. It was indeed quiet but it is a very long walk and very inconvenient unless you are attending a convention. The room was clean and nicely furnished but pretty small by hotel standards. The bathroom was incredibly small with absolutely no counter space. And this was a Bonvoy "upgraded" room. The shower has a full length window in it facing the bed. There is a door you can pull across the window from the bed area so you have some privacy when showering, but not total privacy. It's SO weird. The bathroom lights and the small LED lights in the stand-alone closet come on with movement so if you get up in the middle of the night, all the lights come on. The room was not worth the $500+ we paid and it was an odd room. But again, the staff was very nice.
