“Awesome Resort, loved the all inclusive package!”

We stayed four adults, four kids for the first week of the School Holidays in mid-April and had an amazing time at the Naviti! Accommodation – we were lucky to get upgraded on all three rooms we booked.. there is a wing for families with small children (100-200 block), a wing for older families and then some bungalows for adults. We only slept in the rooms as there was always so much to do! The ocean view rooms were spotless and the view was amazing, everything worked but just remember its 5 star for Fiji Coral Coast, not 5 star in a big city. Its also not the Block and you're not a judge so relax Shayna Blaze and enjoy. Dining – there are four separate restaurants to choose from. Nukunuku is the buffet where they serve breakfast and lunch, loved the breakfast egg station cooked to order however you like them, lunch was always a good mix of fruit, salad, meats and curries. For dinner there is the buffet that has a different theme every night - the seafood and curry nights were amazing, some of the meat could be a bit dry but there's always a curry or a pasta if you're going to channel your inner Gordon Ramsey. There is also the Chinese Restaurant Bamboo Terrace, Talei Italian/ Adults only restaurant and the Grill. The Grill is not included in the all inclusive package and has simple western food like burgers and pizzas for people who have the palate of a 5 year old. The Chinese and Adults only restaurant have a smaller all inclusive menu and then a wider menu where you pay extra for each dish. The food was great in both, especially the braised mud crab for around $70AUD which was incredible! Kids under 12 can dine in the Chinese restaurant but it costs around $70 FJD so we only did that once. For the under 12s there is a kids only buffet from 5:30pm with more simple food like pizza squares, hot chips and mini burgers but they can also eat from the main buffet and all the other restaurants except Talei. Our Mr 6 is a good eater so he preferred the main buffet but was very sad there was no sushi.... first world problems! Bars – There are four bars at the resort – Swim up Pool Bar, Main bar in the buffet, rooftop bar and the bar at the Chinese restaurant. For the all inclusive package you get post mix soft drinks, juices, mocktails, draught beer, house wines and local spirits (rum, vodka, gin, whiskey) all included from 9am-10pm. At around $12FJD per drink, its well worth going all inclusive as its easy to rack up a decent tab if you get your swerve on! Cocktails, top shelf liquor, espresso coffee, canned soft drinks, slushies, milkshakes are not included. Shout out to Salatieli and Luke in the pool bar for their Pina Coladas and Georgie in the main bar for awesome service all week! Resort Activities – There is a full list of resort activities daily from 9am until 10pm everyday including fire dancing, pool volleyball, aqua aerobics, table tennis, kayaks and standup paddle boards. Zaki was a ton of fun leading activities and made us all laugh till we cried! There is a 9 hole Par 3 golf course at the resort - green fees are included in the all inclusive but club hire/balls/tees aren't so pack your own. The course is not Augusta National but hey, you're not Tiger Woods. You will be on the coral coast so if you’re planning to leave the resort you will need taxis or transfer to some of the attractions like shopping, village tours, waterfalls and Electric bike railway tour. The beach and reef right in front of the resort is tidal and has good snorkelling and swimming but it wont blow you away. Better snorkelling and scuba diving can be found about 5 mins down to road at the Hideaway resort. Kids club was awesome and the staff there are firm but fun, it starts at 10am and goes until 9pm but has breaks for lunch and dinner so there are three sessions each day. Its also included in the all inclusive if mum and dad want so alone time ;) Staff – the staff are all very friendly and have a great sense of humour. Don’t be surprised if they push your kids in the pool while collecting empty drinks :) Just remember to switch into Fiji time, learn and use their names, be polite and you will get great service. Some guests were rude and acted like toddlers when they had to wait for a dwinky, so they got the service they deserved :) Tips – Definitely go for the all inclusive package! You sign for everything to your room and over a week of three meals a day, drinks and extras it could end up being a big bill. We kept track of everything we ordered daily that was not included and had no surprises when we checked out. There is one large pool and getting towels starts from 9am and grabbing a sunlounge is not difficult. People do ‘reserve’ them and hardly use them all day but if you want to make sure you grab one get in early or bring your own beach towels. Overall – 9.9/10! If you want a fun, family friendly resort with no stress then this is the place for you. If you want absolute luxury and privacy and to be waited on hand and foot, go to Denaru you wombat. Vinaka!
