This was our first trip to the Blue Mountains, and my partner and I chose the Mountain Heritage Hotel for its views and reasonable price. I’m so glad we did — the whole experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the reception team were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. We were shown to our room and immediately appreciated the blissful cool air conditioning — especially welcome during a 37‑degree heatwave. Our standard room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like complimentary bottled water and a well‑stocked coffee machine. We dined in both the restaurant and the bar during our stay, and the staff in each quickly picked up on our preferences — from my three‑shot morning coffee to our evening Coronas. Every meal we had was delicious. In the formal restaurant we enjoyed generous starters and beautifully cooked mains (the lamb and pork were standouts), though we were far too full for dessert. Another night we opted for the bar menu and loved the chicken burgers and chips. The view — one of the main reasons we chose the hotel — was absolutely stunning. The whole atmosphere of the property is calm, relaxed, and quietly elegant. On Friday and Saturday evenings a talented pianist plays in the bar, which adds a lovely touch to the experience. We also appreciated how easy it was to charge our electric car. The hotel provided the correct connection lead, and with multiple charging points available, it was completely hassle‑free. Charging is $30 per session, which felt reasonable for the convenience. There’s a small swimming pool on site, popular with families during our stay. We took one dip ourselves — the water was refreshingly crisp, which was perfect after a long day of hiking in the heat. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Mountain Heritage and will definitely be returning. It’s a charming, welcoming hotel with beautiful views and thoughtful service — a perfect base for exploring the Blue Mountains.

We had our wedding at this beautiful hotel on 18 Oct 2025. It was amazing. The staff were so beautiful and our day was the best. Organisation was so easy and laid back. No stress. Thank you for making beautiful memories for us to cherish !

Stayed as a couple at Hotel Mountain Heritage in Katoomba for one night in Nov 2025. Found the hotel to be cosy and ‘oldie worldy’ and felt very relaxed there. Staff were lovely and there was a good atmosphere. Room - We choose a spa room with a jacuzzi bath. Good size quirky shaped room and bathroom, bed was cosy, furniture was very worn and scuffed, décor was more tacky than vintage. No view outside window, just a wall from the other side of the building. We were only given one key to the room which was a bit awkward, also, there are no elevators in the hotel which could be an issue for older people. Pool – I had chosen this hotel because it had a pool, it is very nice and towels were provided, but absolutely freezing (Nov) and there was absolutely no-one else using it as it prob needed a few more weeks to heat up. I got in regardless but my other half chickened out! Restaurant – had lunch and breakfast in the restaurant, food was delicious and view is superb. I’m vegetarian and was told it would be an extra $3 to add avocado to my egg and toast which I felt was a bit mean considering we had paid to have breakfast included in the room price and avocado was offered with the other breakfast dishes. I see the set menu has changed to a buffet breakfast in the last few weeks. Our biggest issue was finding the place from the train station (which should have been easy), road sign was pointed the wrong way, then we asked 3 different people for directions and they all sent us in the wrong direction, turns out there’s a motel with a very similar name and that is where they were sending us. Gave up walking in circles and went to the taxi rank as suggested by the staff in the hop on bus office, was told there would be numbers to call displayed on the taxi shelter but there wasn’t. Was so frustrating, we ended up taking a lift from a kind stranger. Hotel is in fact, not too far from the train station but there’s an incline at both ends so I wouldn’t recommend walking for older people or if you have a lot of luggage.

“Book only if you have few options.”

Lovely views of the blue mountains but a dated property. Big rooms but stained carpet, broken tiles in bathrooms, sagging sofa. The breakfast doesn’t seem value for money. Their idea of cleaning is to make the bed while floor left uncleaned.
