“Fantastic Hotel”

My partner and I have just finished our week stay at Melia Jardines del Teide and honestly what a gorgeous hotel. We were greeted upon arrival by a lovely team and given complimentary champagne and taken to our room. The room itself was clean, spacious and stunning and had lots of great amenities such as robe, slippers, hairdryer etc. Worth noting the shower was lovely and powerful and aircon was perfect too. The pool area was also fantastic and kept very clean. We got fresh towels every day and there was water activities on daily which were always fun to watch. The heated pool was a plus too as it was always the perfect temperature. We went for the bed and breakfast board and we are honestly glad we did it this way. Breakfast was fantastic, probably better than any hotel breakfast we have ever had before. However it does get a bit repetitive after the first few days so I am glad we ventured outside for dinner every night as Costa Adeje and Las Americas has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants. We only ate at one of the hotel’s A La carte restaurants, Pico Negro, and although it was an expensive meal we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend eating there if you like that kind of food. The staff were an absolute credit to this hotel - they were always so pleasant, polite and happy to assist. Special mention to Beatrix at the pool bar as she was always such a pleasure to interact with. The night time entertainment was of a good standard, however a small note was that there was only limited seats available to sit and watch, and after coming back from dinner there was more times than not nowhere to sit, but this was not a big deal for us as we just sat at the inside bar instead. A couple of cons I think worth mentioning - although there was 2 of us in our room, we were only provided with 1 coffee mug. When we requested another we were told that hotel policy is only 1 mug per room, which just makes no sense when there is 2 of us staying there? Additionally, the walls to the rooms were quite thin and we could hear the conversations of the people in the room next to us clearly. Not sure if this is the same across all floors (we were floor 4) but it did disturb us on a few occasions. Overall we had a lovely stay at this hotel, it was absolutely gorgeous to look at and felt very clean and modern. Staff are a real asset to the hotel and definitely made the difference in our experience. We would definitely return to stay here again.

We stayed for a week, all inclusive in this beautiful hotel. We loved the location, which being on a hill gave stunning views of the sea. The whole property and garden was tidy and very clean. All the staff are excellent but a special mention to Laura in the main restaurant, Alice on reception, Melissa (entertainment) and both Nicola and Beatrix at the pool bar. All those employees are always smiling, helpful and a pleasure to engage with. We had a ‘level’ sea view junior suite which is a stunning room with a large balcony. It was worth the extra for the room ( plus we upgraded on check in to the sea view). We didn’t choose the level benefits package and that was the right decision. The main pool was much nicer than the level pool despite the 5 tiers to get there lifts are available but someone with mobility issues may struggle. There are plenty of exercise classes, I particularly enjoyed the pool aqua classes. The hotel mixed these up to make it more interesting- we had Aqua bike, trampoline, pole (!), Zumba as well as regular dance aerobics. Maria was great in the trampoline class and that class was very good fun. Evening entertainment was usually two types of live music with singer / band / guitar player - overall very good. The food was generally good and plenty of choice. During the week we were able to eat in the Italian Casa Nosta restaurant once as part of the all inclusive package . This was our best meal - excellent service and food. We ate in the a la carte Pino Negro restaurant on our last night (50% discount off food if on all inclusive). The restaurant is lovely and overlooks the sea and pool. However we didn’t enjoy our meal there. The English translation on the menu wasn’t accurate so the food we ended up with wasn’t as expected at all. Staff were lovely and tried to make amends but we just didn’t enjoy the food. Recommended a visit to La Caleta, €6 in a taxi or walk. Lovely little harbour with great restaurants and bars. Not at all commercialised. We ate there one evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Melia and will very likely return.

Overall very positive - just a few issue which if sorted would make it perfect. First the positive - good location, lovely large room overlooking the pool, sea and Costa Adeje (even though we hadn't booked a seaview). Room was kept extremely clean. Very comfortable bed and great sleep experience. Good sized fridge, with mini-bar. Very comfortable balcony chairs, sofa. coffee table and small table & 2 chairs. Great walk-in shower. Good range of bathroom products, including toothbrush & small toothpaste - a first for us! Easy check-in and check-out (by 12noon). Nice touch of a bottle of water on arrival (it's not replaced if on half-board). Two cans of water also supplied, but we were not sure if these were complementary or part of mini-bar. Given a complementary cocktail voucher in Pico Negro (pool side restaurant) on arrival (for 2 drinks per room) which we used on last night. Built on a hillside, there were a lot of steps, but also lifts and set in lovely gardens with waterfalls cascading down through the various levels. Hotel is about 5-10mins walk from beachfront but uphill on return journey. A free coach service left at 11am each day, with return at 5pm - we didn't use this service, but walked to beach/shops after dinner. Fantastic range of daytime activities - as well as the usual pool exercises, there was a great range of activities like pilates, reiki, yoga and breathwork. First hotel that we stayed in that provided more unusual activities, like art painting, glass painting (making a pendant), soap making, cocktail workshop, coffee workshop and macrame taken by local artisans. We missed the coffee workshop and cocktail workshop was oversubscribed. Highly recommend these and a great job by the activities team (special mention to Cecila!). The pool area is great - large heated pool criss-crossed by bridges and not too deep (around 1m-1.5m). Relatively easy to get a sunbed - best before 9:30-10am. Easy ordering of drinks via app (which is also used to book activities). Pool towels provided and could be changed regularly. Good range of food - we were half-board, but most guests seemed to be all-inclusive - good range of branded drinks and good sized glasses. Great salads and breads. Evening entertainment was good - singers and groups which changed nightly. One singer - billed as Gentlemen Voice - was outstanding. Unfortunately as he sang in spanish most guests ignored him, but he was much better than your average hotel singer. Don't miss the 'Violin & Voice' - we didn't expect it to be great, but were very wrong, But there were a few things which would have made this a 5* review. While there was a good range of food ably prepared by chefs, the hot plate area wasn't effective, resulting in some food not being hot - a quick solution would have been to have had the microwave available for breakfast, also available for evening meals. It was a bit hit and miss - if you happened to get the food when it was first put out, it was fine, but after sitting, it went cold, which was disappointing. Had a lovely salmon, but spoiled as its wasn't hot enough. Guessing they need more effective hotplates as this wasn't something we had a problem with in other hotels. We arrived around 10pm, so missed dinner on first night, though a selection of cheese, 2 bread sticks and some cold meats, along with a doughnut (mine was stale), apple and rather unappetising yoghurt. We had anticipated getting a meal at the end of the holiday - as our coach pick-up was before dinner, we did ask if we could have lunch instead, but told this wasn't possible - disappointed that we only had 6 evening meals instead of the 7 we expected. Some guests got a welcome drink on arrival, while others (including us) didn't - not sure if this is only for all-inclusive guests? Desserts all looked great, but with a few exceptions, like most hotels didn't have much flavour and the usual 'shaving foam' cream. In a first, our daughter had a cheesecake type dessert which didn't taste of anything - quiet an achievement!! We were told the hotel bought in the desserts - they would be better letting chefs make them. While there were sufficient beds, there was a severe lack of umbrellas - again something that could be easily fixed. We needed one as even in May the daytime temperatures made it very hot - so if you want an umbrella you need to go early - mostly gone by 9am. An improvement would be for an extra free bus to beach to leave/return around 2pm for those who didn't want to spend 6 hours at the beach. The rooms, while great, could have benefited from a couple of pictures to create a more homely feel. Rooms overlooking the 'Level Pool' were next to the entertainment which finished around 10:45pm, followed by DJ type music - so were noisy. Quieter rooms were on 1st & 2nd floors. Overall a great enjoyable holiday - a few small improvements would make this perfect!

Wonderful hotel with great amenities. Staying at The Level was definitely worth it and we thoroughly enjoyed the seperate area for breakfast and snacks for guests staying in The Level section of the hotel. The serving staff were all amazing and made sure we were looked after when dining. The food is absolutely amazing and is certainly the nicest all inclusive buffet I have experienced. Unfortunately the hotel can be somewhat confusing as everything included for The Level is not on one level despite the name. We were very well looked after at The Level pool by Ramon who made sure we always had a drink and everything ran so smooth when he was there, sadly the days he wasn’t there things did not run as efficiently and the difference was definitely noticeable, he really is a great credit to this hotel! This hotel is stunning and definitely worth visiting!
