“Lovely hotel, great views”

Lovely 4 day trip to Adeje. The hotel is conveniently located close to several beaches, shops and the resorts of playa del duque, Fañabé and La Caleta. The hotel is fairly high up, so if you have mobility issues or trouble with stairs or hills, you may be better suited to one of the beach front hotels. There are lifts but dotted around on different levels and walk ways due to the set out of the hotel. This wasn’t an issue for us and the views from the hotel are spectacular. The staff were all Friendly and professional. We weren’t offered a welcome drink on check in but did have a voucher for complimentary cocktails in the restaurant, which was a nice touch. We stayed in Melia room, very spacious, clean and comfortable with a good view down to the beach. Other premium rooms were available but we were overall quite impressed with the quality of the standard room for the price.The ritual toiletries were a touch of class. The terrace for breakfast was amazing, one of the best we have come across. There was lots of variety of hot and cold food all of a very good standard and they did have cava. Filter Coffe was nice but did get cold quickly. However the hotel had several machines so you could always make your own. So much choice food wise. Lovely fresh bread, pastries and even honeycomb. Service again great, no issues getting tables inside or out. We only stayed bed and breakfast, but the hotel had ample offerings for food. The pool side restaurant looked awesome. Bars were really nice with reasonable value drinks and attentive staff. You can pay by card as you go or charge to your room. Pool area clean, with lots of sun beds. Always activities if you wanted to exercise or keep busy. Fairly relaxed atmosphere, pool plenty big enough for guests and a nice temperature too. Some parts of the hotel look very modern, think they have had some upgrades and improvements, whilst bits were possibly still needing a little tlc. We definitely felt like this represented really good value for the hotels in the area and would happily stay again.

A group of 12 of us, family and friends booked this hotel to celebrate my big birthday. We opted for an all-inclusive package which worked well for us as a group. (Ages from 26 to 77). Good points: Rooms are clean and very spacious with good sized balconies. Ours had a lovely sea view. Bathroom was large and clean Furnishings were good and bed was huge and very comfortable Lovely pool area Small but nice pool bar Food in buffet restaurant was excellent - you would never go hungry - something for everyone. Food in the all-inclusive Casa Nostra Restaurant was excellent, although a rather limited menu was offered, so if you don't eat meat there were only a couple of dishes to choose from. The Retama Lobby Bar was fantastic and provided us with the best cocktails. Bad points: The biggest disappointment for us was that we booked the Pico Negro Restaurant located by the pool area (that wasn't included in the all-inclusive, although you got 50% off the food) on my actual Birthday. We thought that the drinks were part of our all-inclusive package (and were not told otherwise) as they were the same as we got everywhere else in the hotel. This was not the case. They tried to charge us for what we had and a lot more! The biggest being that only one of us was drinking white wine, and didn't even finish the bottle BUT there were 6 on the bill!!! It was OUTRAGEOUS! Totally ruined our night as I ended up having to argue with them. We went to the Hotel Manager the next day and explained. He took the wines off that had been added and some of the other bottles but not all. Shame as the restaurant was lovely with entertainment and great food. But we felt totally ripped off - so avoid the place, especially if all-inclusive. The hotel is too big and very spread out on many different levels! It does have lifts to all the the levels, but takes a bit of working out. We had to take 3 lifts (with a bit of a walk in between) to get from the room up by the Buffet Restaurant to the pool area. As the hotel is so large, the communication between the staff is non-existent. So if you book or arrange anything - double, triple check that it's done and don't be surprised if you turn up and it's not. Pool was freezing cold - so much so, that once you had braved it to get in, you couldn't stay there too long. It really was cold! Entertainment was ok, but not very exciting and only on for a couple of hours each evening. Could have done with more variety and longer.

“Not a 5 star hotel”

We have just come back from a week at the Melia Jardine and although we had a lovely time there are aspects which let me down which I will mention. First I think this hotel is marketed as a 5* but reasltically I would say it’s a 4 or 4.5. I just don’t think you can compare it to say the Bahía which is across the road and the same star rating. The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice bright and spacious. The views from the outdoor 5th floor bar area are amazing on a clear evening. The breakfast is very good, lots of selection you really can’t moan about that. We didn’t eat lunch or dinner here so can’t comment on the evening meals. I think the pool area lets it down: The beds are very close together and on a busy hot day you are crammed in like a hotel pool you would find in Benidorm. If you want a double Bali style bed you have to pay extra which I was not impressed about considering we already paid quite a lot for the holiday to begin with. The pool bar is disappointing. You have to get up and que for a drink, staff do not come to your bed and take orders like I would expect in a 5 star hotel, and the ques at peak time were quite long. The pool bar food menu was rubbish too, if you wanted nice pool food you have to go sit in the designated restaurant. We prefer to order food to our beds on holiday especially in a 5 star resort. Overall the hotel is just okay, I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t say you get a full 5 star hotel experience which you get at the other hotels in Costa Adeje, we have stayed in almost all of them.

Hotel has good location and nice size rooms (we stayed in one of Levels Suites) If you Level customer you have option to have cooked breakfast in restaurant and overall it’s ok but we had to wait quite a bit for a drinks. There is also option of buffet breakfast (I think it’s good idea if you want to leave early and had a quick grab). We had 2 evening meals in hotel. One was buffet dinner (AVOID if you can) and second in a restaurant near pool- which was great! If you a Level customer you also have access to hotel lounge which is very nice especially to wind down after whole day of hikes. We didn’t use pool but used gym more less every day and it was, clean and spacious. Sadly downfall of this place (for us) was VERY loud evening entertainment (sometimes running well past 23:30) which stopped us to have a good sleep. Unfortunately this is the reason we will not be returning.
