“May Stay”

Very clean,everyday room cleaned. Great for kids with pool and slides. Only criticism is I thought food was just OK. I thought more Spanish type dishes would be on offer as alot of Spanish guests. Just a personal taste as I prefer spicy foods. Perfectly edible just more options need to be available as too many English type dishes. Maybe do themed nights? Overall lovely pleasant stay. We found the hotel very good and spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious and well maintained.The staff however some pleasant some very unfriendly.Sandra and her collegue on the restaurant entrance were very friendly and efficient. We requested a curtesy room for seven of us at 3.30pm on our final day there was a huge delay resulting in some of us not showering.The reception team wasnt helpful enough .

This is the first family holiday we have had abroad, our children are 9 & 6 hopefully this will give some context to our experience. Our stay was the week before the kids late may school holiday (22nd-28th May 2024). ROOM 241 Our hotel room was dated but nice and clean. The wardrobe was damaged as if someone stood on one of the shelves and the safe that was installed didn't have a lock meaning it was more of a token gesture than usable. The beds were fairly comfortable, and our balcony was nice overlooking the pool. The bathroom was spacious. We had two issues with the room, firstly the hot water not being hot. We had maintenance arrive at the room after going to the reception, he was a nice guy but could not speak any English so had to use a translator on my phone to chat to him. The reason for the cold water seems to be because there was not many people staying at the hotel so not enough flow, after leaving the water on for about 20 minutes it seemed to warm up nicely. The second issue was drinking water in the room, there is a fridge but nothing inside. I read that you can drink the water but even the Spanish themselves generally drink filtered water. We ended up filling water bottles at the outdoor bar so in the end this wasn't a big issue. POOLS The pools are great for kids, we saw them being cleaned every morning and the life guards kept the pools clean during the day scooping out leaves ect as and when required. I did notice that the smallest pool apparatus could do with a little tlc as there was a couple of areas duct taped up but generally nothing that would cause harm to little ones. BARS When we arrived the only bar available was the bamboo bar. We found the tenders to be nice although a running theme through the accomodation was lack of/broken English speaking from some of the staff, this did get better over the week. Plenty of drinks available, would advise the Pina coladas as they were fantastic! Other bars started to open up over our stay. FOOD We only used the buffet area, the only other restaurant open during our stay was the Asian restaurant but didn't think the kids would enjoy this so never went, we was told we could go one during our stay although the website for the hotel states 3 visits during a 7 day stay? We was disappointed that the grill and Italian restaurants were not open as this is were we would have preferred to go. The food in the buffet area was ok, not the best that I've had but plenty on offer, it was like many others have said very samey same and after our week stay we was glad to get something different at home! Again the staff in the restaurant were lovely and welcoming but not much English was spoken. ENTERTAINMENT We found the entertainment to be lacking, there wasn't really any during the week until the weekend and then it was very Spanish orientated. The daytime kids entertainers could speak English but it didn't feel very inclusive, whether that is due to more Spanish children getting involved I an not really sure. Saturday and Sunday we had a Singer on, singing mostly Spanish songs with a few Tina Turner hits thrown in. It felt a bit dated aiming more at the over 60s even though the crowd was generally young families. There was a kids club downstairs but we didn't know that until the end of the Sunday entertainment as was not told it was on at the reception when we first arrived. Again this entertainment was only at the weekend with a half arsed kids disco on Monday evening between the buffet area and the bamboo bar. OTHER GUESTS When we arrived on Tuesday the place was quiet, a few English tourists and a few Spanish quite a nice mix, as other reviewer have said the as the weekend arrives everything changes, lots of Spanish families arrive Friday mid afternoon and over run the place, I would advise if you stay that you try to plan any excursions you wish to try on Saturday, this is the busiest day, we decided to take a trip to Almeria this day and from what other guests had told us we are glad that we did. As with most hotels the mix of guests can really change your perception of a holiday, we found some the the Spanish weekend guests to be very disgusting, treating the hotel like a doss house we saw some kids chucking and spitting food around the place and parents generally having no regard for what their children were doing and how it may affect other guests. All this subsided on the Sunday afternoon with all the weekend holiday makers leaving before dinner. After this the hotel picked up a little with British and Spanish guests compared to the begining of the week giving a good feeling vibe to the place. OVERALL I would say the hotel is good to visit, like all it has some flaws but for the most part it has all a young family requires. We could see that the hotel were renovating things as we were there, new tables for the pool bar, it seemed like the pool toilets had recently been tiled or re-grouted, I would say the next thing for them to work on is the rooms to bring them up to a good standard. I would say the staff are friendly but would highly advise using a translator on your phone so break the language barrier if using more than a couple of basic words. I read a few comments about staff being rude but I think this is more down to not speaking fluent English. TO THE HOTEL Thank you for our lovely stay. We could see the improvements being made and would advise rooms being updated to enhance people's stays. I would also ask that on arrival that things are made more clear, we didn't know that during our stay things were opening up i.e. bars and entertainment so we only found out but chance. Would be a good idea to add dates other things opening on the paper when people arrive and and website for more transparency. Unfortunately we didn't take many photos as we were too busy enjoying ourselves! 😅

The hotel is nice, the lay out, decorated nicely etc. The pools are good too, cold but the water slides kept my kids happy . !!Noticed a lack of safe number of life guards in the week…one life guard for 4 pools!! But Thursday-Sunday the have four because lots of Spanish come to the hotel . This isn’t safe, I think you should have one life guard to each pool!! The rooms are a good size and clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is only one waitress that is rude to everyone! This is not really a resort, there is nothing going on out of the hotel. The evening entertainment is bad! The kids club was terrible…just put music on late inside and that’s it. No dancing with the kids or engaging with little ones at all …unless it’s a weekend and your Spanish .( all reviews accurate about weekend situation) evenings very boring The animation team in the day are a lovely group, especially the male staff . Food was average. We had nice relaxing holiday but wouldn’t go back
