“Top animators Dario and Alba”

We had so much fun with at all the activities. The animators Dario and Alba did an excellent job! Would definitely recommend doing activities with them. We did everyday several activities with them and it made our stay better. (Soccer, Darts, Archery, Aquagymnastic…) Thank you!

Our second visit to this hotel. Below are the things that are important to me (everyone is different) and my comments. The hotel is immaculate as are the extensive outdoor areas. No reserving sun beds here, the pool staff will lift your towels. Works really well, no folks putting towels out at 8 and appearing at 1. People have mentioned the queues for food in the dining room. The layout is such that the food is laid out in one long mall, yes you need to dodge a few folk. No big deal for me. The food is excellent, the staff work their socks off and it’s a lovely dining room. The rooms are large, well equipped with excellent showers, a big plus for me. Brilliant supermarket onsite- stocks everything. Evening entertainment is the usual, good standard from the many others I’ve seen. The hotel is well located. Many shops and restaurants on your doorstep and a beautiful boardwalk to wander along. The hotel and area are well suited to those in wheelchairs. The only thing that would better this hotel are more waiting staff in the plaza area. A lovely 5 star week, would definitely return.

I really enjoyed my stay in the winter sun. The hotel itself is beautiful and the entrance, the lobby, the pools and the grounds are all stunning. The spa was fantastic! The staff were so helpful and friendly and it was brilliant value! I could have easily spent longer than 4 hours going round the different rooms and experiences. The outdoor pool with the spa was fantastic too. The only thing that let it down was the shower with no shampoo/conditioner/body wash like you might get in a UK spa of that standard. Petra and the daytime entertainment team were brilliant! I did yoga and body balance classes outside with Petra which were amazing but my favourite classes were her aqua fit and aqua gym classes which were so much fun and I looked forward to them every day. Breakfast was overwhelming busy although there was always plenty of food and tables. My advice would be to go early! I enjoyed how close the hotel is to restaurants on the beach. El Churrasco had the best steak I have had in a long time. The Rioja the waiter recommended was fantastic too! Cafe Del Mar is a must visit at the bottom of the infinity pool. You can check online which live shows they have on each night. It does get quite dark though if you are eating there late. My favourite restaurant was Kabuki which is quite expensive but it was such top quality sushi. Of the restaurants in the hotel: La Toscana was probably my least favourite meal, which was mainly due to a rude waitress. Nihao is an Asian restaurant and it was a close second least favourite. I ordered the pad Thai and the noodles were all clagged together and quite flavourless. I didn’t bother to ask for a drink as I had seen other reviews saying there was no wine list. The food in both pool bars were surprisingly really good and you could charge to your room. I didn’t go for dinner options/packages as I like to choose where to eat and I am pleased I didn’t do this. Generally, be prepared to find the food service quite slow compared to London, especially if you are a solo traveler. They also don’t really do sides so I ended up ordering 3 courses as meat dishes for main would arrive with little else. I was craving some potatoes and vegetable sides by the time I got home. It was quite busy even in January but I could tell it would be even busier in peak season. I found I could always get a sun bed and there wasn’t an issue with reserving sunbeds early in the morning. The smaller pool which is far round to the right of the hotel is much quieter and had sun late into the afternoon. I didn’t like the ‘sand’ area which was actually tiny stones which were really unpleasant to walk on. If you are a sun worshiper if you come out the back of the hotel with the infinity pool in front of you, the sun rises on the left and sets on the right. The palm trees might block the sun at different points in the day. For late afternoon sun, the sun terrace overlooking the beach was perfect. As a solo female traveler I felt completely safe and I was happy moving around the resort even at night. I would definitely return but with a few tips from my first trip.
