“One of our BEST Hotel Experiences, Ever”

Just got back from a 7-night stay at the JW Marriott, Dongdaemun with my daughter and mom. We are Korean, but hadn't been back in the "motherland" in a significant amount of time, and had big expectations surrounding this trip. I chose this particular property hoping for safety, comfort, and perhaps a bit of luxury. The hotel delivered on all this - and more. The front desk staff was always so welcome and helpful whenever we interacted. Every person we spoke to there delivered outstanding customer service. We loved the Executive Lounge and the peaceful vibe it offered. BELLA was just the sweetest, kindest soul and made us feel like the most valued guests ever. Talking to her was just a pleasure. The lounge offerings were really nice, a simple breakfast in the morning, and delicious small bites in the evening with wine. We loved our daily breakfasts in Tavolo 24! Plenty of Western dishes like made to order omelets, French toast, bacon, sausage etc., a children's station with fried rice and Pororo stamped sausages (my daughter got a kick out of this), a make your own pho station (so good!), Japanese and Chinese fare, and of course a full Korean station with pork belly and lettuce wraps, soup, and a variety of banchan. We loved our breakfasts here so much, and were so sad on our last morning there lol. Staff here was always exceptional, too. The female manager (?) - I didn't get her name - wished us a safe trip back home on our last morning, which felt like a special personal touch. Personal service like this has felt so lacking in other hotels, I really appreciated that! We ordered room service twice, and let me tell you - usually room service sucks, even in 5-star hotels, but these meals were AMAZING. They were so good, reasonably priced, and always delivered promptly and with a smile. The Provence L'Occitane Spa was phenomenal. I treated myself to a facial and massage package which was divine. Dorothy was my therapist and she was so skilled. Gentle on my face, firm on my massage - just the perfect touch whatever she was doing. This experienced turned me onto L'Occitane products again! The indoor hotel pool was such a treat that my daughter enjoyed so very much. The space is absolutely gorgeous and never crowded. It's like entering a peaceful oasis with a bubbling hot tub and giant pool (that's not too deep). The water temperature was always perfect and the entire area is just sparkling clean. There's also a rinse off station which was really convenient. Finally our room. We stayed in 1030, which was the Executive Suite. Roomy, airy, with a gorgeous view of Dongdaemun on one side, and a stream (which name I can't remember right now) on the other. We had a sizable living room, 2 bathrooms, a spacious bedroom - it was so comfortable, felt homey, and just the perfect space to start and end our day in. Housekeeping was wonderful about coming in every afternoon. When we checked out, we left a note of thanks for the wonderful service. I know I haven't mentioned a single negative in my review - and that's because there were none. We really enjoyed this property so much, and will be back when we return to Seoul - hopefully for a longer duration next time! If management ever reads this, thank you so much - and please appreciate your hardworking staff. They are so deserving on every level!
