We loved it from the moment we walked in. Stayed here with my sister celebrating a special birthday. We absolutely loved the hotel it exceeded our expectations. The ambience,architecture staff food and a wonderful sea view. I could not fault this beautiful hotel. I will be returning next year with my husband. Thank you so very much for a wonderful stay. “Comfortable with the beach on your doorstep.”

Clean spacious room and bathroom also the impressive public rooms and spaces are well kept. Note if you are on bed and breakfast (excellent) you need to recognise that it is a minimum 1K walk to nearest restaurant and further for more choice. WE would go back.

Booked in for a week half board with my wife in May 2024 - Room 4516. Check-in - the male that booked us in on arrival on Sunday afternoon was cold and not very welcoming. My wife remarked the same and described him as borderline rude. Not a great first impression on our first visit. It wasn't a busy time. Room - we found our room clean, comfortable and everything worked. The beds were comfortable. The shower was adequate. We booked a sea view room. Some toiletries were supplied but I found the smell of the handwash off-putting. There was a gap over the top of the door out to balcony where you could almost put your finger through it. This led to potential draughts and also noise from the sea. The toilet seat / cover needed adjustment. The bathroom door was also jamming on the tiles (need adjusting). I reported these items to reception before we left. Perhaps it might be worth adding rubber feet to the furniture to cut down on noise? Overall, we were happy with the room and the items mentioned did not deter us. Once it was clean, comfortable and had a decent shower it ticked the important boxes. We also requested a kettle and it was delivered next day. Milk sachets and teabags were topped up daily. Corridor - the carpet in the centre of the corridor on our floor was worn and tatty in places. There was also clear damage underneath in some places as you could feel the depressions while walking on it. Pool area / Pool bar. The pools were clean (and cold) with not many people using them due to the temperature. We used the pool bar several times and were satisfied with the food, beer and service. Special mention to Xavier. Pricing was ok. I walked most days but my wife stayed poolside - the sunchairs were not the most comfortable. Staff: On the whole we found the staff to be friendly, efficient and pleasant. Shame the first person we met wasn't reflective of the rest of the hotel staff. Special mention for Rocio who always had a smile and is a true asset to your organisation. Food: The general standard of the food was good with regular changes to both the breakfast menu and the dinner menu. I have to have my food hot or I won't eat it. Most items were of a suitable temp but I did find a few items which were not even warm. I gave up on the mushrooms after three attempts. The potatoes were also hit and miss. The food was generally well marked with signs. Overall we were happy with the food and my wife was very happy with the salad menus. Spa - neither of us used the spa so cannot comment. Entertainment: There was little or none. A pianist entertained on one or two nights and he was very capable. Other nights there was soccer on the tv. Personally, I would rather have no entertainment than poor quality performers so I wasn't overly bothered about this subject. The tv in the room had about 100+ channels but only a few were English. There were very few children in this hotel and I would put the average age of patrons in the 45+ bracket. We were pitching this hotel against the Occidental in the centre of Fuengirola. In this visit, I would say that the Occidental (Barcelo) came out on top. We enjoyed the week and the weather was really good. We both agreed that we would stay there again but there is plenty of room for improvement!

Lovely setting on the beach, great sea views from the rooms. We stayed half board; breakfast was particularly good, dinner was fine. Staff are professional and friendly, the hotel was clean and tidy. We were happy to be away from the main hustle and bustle of the town centre (no shops, restaurants or bars in the immediate vicinity from what we could find) although be aware that there is the MareNostrum music festival being held with concerts at various dates through the summer which is in the castle grounds next door so the area will be busier and noisier than usual. A few things to be aware of - we had to request a kettle for the room as not provided as standard. No drinks at all are included in the half board package, not even water. There is a fridge in the room and water is provided on day 1 but not replenished after that. The safe in the room is opened by the room key which feels less secure than one where you can set your own pin as technically anyone with a key can open it. The pool area lacked ambiance, the bar nearest the pool felt too formal and there didn’t seem to be the option to have drinks brought to the pool area. The biggest negative that we have is the poor quality of the sun beds. They need replacing as many are broken either with parts missing at the back or sunken in the middle. Definitely not up to standard. Overall it’s fine but not great.
