What a lovely hotel. The staff are very helpful, our room, overlooking the sea, was a delight. The food was varied and plentiful, the service was faultless. We had a problem with out booking (booking agents fault) which was dealt with immediately and without fuss. The turtle rehabilitation lagoon and centre was such a joy to visit and watch the turtles, especially the tiny ones. There is a lagoon where you can swim and snorkel with the fish. There is a water sports centre and there are plenty of places to lounge. This is, simply, the best hotel we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in many 5/6* hotels) but this offered so much more that you really could happily stay for several days and always find new delights, and we fully intend to return. Thank you so much for a pleasurable stay. We will never forget it.

“Beautiful resort”

Had a lovely and relaxing time here. We stayed in the overwater bungalows, and it was magical. It was so special to jump off the deck into the ocean. The water was pristine and a perfect temperature. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and plentiful. You could rent jet skis, paddle boards, and kayaks to use right on the property. It also has a lagoonarium with sea turtles and a special lagoon where you can swim with fish as if you were in the ocean.

“Invest in remodelling your rooms”

Some of their rooms need to be made over, very tired in the older ones and quite small for the prices they charges there! The grounds are okay but could also use some upgrading and the pools are in need of better recycling of water. The food and beverage is very good

There is a slight delay in posting this post due to travel requirements. The Intercontinental Tahiti seems to cater more for cruise ship passengers and cruise ship day visitors and the impression I got was that this hotel is more interested in its cruise passengers than their Intercontinental Ambassadors or non cruise guests. I received no recognition of my InterContinental Ambassador Diamond Elite status on check-in, though I was informed I had received a room upgrade. We were there for 7 days, and this became more evident on a couple of occasions during our stay. Intercontinental Tahiti does not have the same ambience with which I associate with the Intercontinental brand, and I have stayed in many around the globe. Rooms were spacious and clean. Some renovation work is ongoing in one of the accommodation blocks and the decking in from if the restaurant, but there is minimal noise. One area of concern for me was at breakfast the cold meats and cheese are on display, covered but below bright lights, which made both items sweaty, which I don't think is very hygienic and cause related health problem's. They should be kept on a cool counter, Needless to say, I never chose these items. Apart from this one concern, there was a good choice on the offer of other items. They have a good wildlife project ongoing at the hotel, rehabilitation, and care of injured and newborn turtles for release. One compliment must go to the concierge team. Especially Teiki Pescheux. Very helpful, full of suggestions, and nothing too much trouble. We hired a car, and Teiki highlighted a map marked out with places of interest and routes to take. His colleague offered assistance while we were trying to check-in on line for our Air Tahiti flights as it was all in French, which we don't understand or converese in to ensure we ticked the right boxes. One word of caution. If you are booked in on a bed and breakfast rate, which includes a Sunday stay.  On Sundays they have brunch instead of breakfast which cost more. So, on checking out carefully, check your bill as they add the additional cost to your invoice. Even through when you are required to sign the breakfast receipt, it does state that if breakfast is included within the rate, it's a nil charge. I questioned this and was informed it is computer generated. Reluctantly, they agreed to remove this charge, which should never have been there in the first place. I think they are trying to recoup their costs, hoping people will not notice. This hotel should be rebanded as it fits more in keeping with Holiday Inn Resorts than the Intercontinental brand. Would I recommend this hotel? If visiting again, I would bypass and head straight to Bora Bora where true Intercontinental hospitality awaits.
