“Absolutely fabulous, great location”

“Great choice for a short break in Palma.”

We stayed here for six nights as part of a Jet2 City Break. It was an excellent choice notable for its incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We had a quiet room on the sixth floor, so just one floor up took us to the rooftop bar and Pintamonas Restaurant where we ate every evening. We had no regrets about not having to leave the hotel to find somewhere to eat and, with a (relatively) small menu choice, we were quite happy repeating dishes. The service was very good though on a couple of evenings they struggled a little when they were busy. The hotel is an easy, safe and pleasant walk into the city; about 20 minutes to the cathedral. We would certainly stay here again.

Back in 2015 I wrote the following review of this hotel. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g187463-d248987-r272929288-INNSiDE_by_Melia_Palma_Center-Palma_de_Mallorca_Majorca_Balearic_Islands.html We had occasion to stay here again this month after Ryanair re-scheduled our flights by 4 hours and we had to stay overnight in Palma. A number of hotels wanted a two night minimum stay. I assumed that after nine years things might have improved in this hotel. I was wrong. Check-in was much better this time round with a very pleasant young lady named Nieves arranging a room for us before the official 3 p.m. check-in time. Our room has basically the same as the one we were given nine years previously. Tiny bathroom, dreadful shower, small bed. Air conditioning was poor. There was no luggage rack for us to put our suitcase on....we had to use the floor. The rain shower was a disaster. We prefer to us the hand held shower rather than having water pour down over our head from above. You could not do this here. It was water pouring down over your head because the hand held element did not engage. Same bland decor in the room. Blue light shining from T.V......smoke alarm flashing on the ceiling. We were getting an early flight so went to breakfast at 7 a.m. How can the breakfast hot offering be lukewarm at 7 a.m.? I have had far better breakfasts in other Melia Hotels, no bread rolls, just loaves of bread that you cut yourself. No cloth provided to cover the bread when it is being cut. Multiple hands mauling your bread. I asked for a cloth.....a tissue was provided. We paid over €180 for one nights bed and breakfast......not worth the price.

Lovely, modern, clean hotel 10/10 and great minibar- free water and beer. Could not fault the rooms. However breakfast buffet was very poor on hot food- it was NEVER hot! Even arriving as soon as breakfast area opened the supposedly hot food (fried eggs and crispy bacon) was cold. Reason being the "hotplate" was barely warm, food kept uncovered and put on ceramic plates on a tepid hotplate. How do you expect food to keep warm for a couple of minutes let alone hours? No one wants to eat undercooked cold fried eggs or cold bacon. Great continental breakfast though, we generally avoided the "cooked", the bread choice was superb and good choice of fruit, yoghurts, cheeses and plant milks etc We went half board and the evening meal was served in a cold dining area near the pool on the top floor. In mid April with wind howling around all diners had to wear fleeces/jumpers and some also had warm coats on top of their dining attire - not good. Why could we not eat on the ground floor in the warmer breakfast area which is warmer when weather cold and windy? After 4 evening meals (only allowed 2 courses on half board) and no change of menu we were restricted in choice of food which was quite limited. On several occasions both us and some neighbouring tables had to ask for food to be reheated once it arrived as again it often came to the table COLD. (cooked rice and a fish dish) Restaurant chef and manager please take note. Overall despite the above we did enjoy our stay, ideal location for walking about, sightseeing and only 10 minute walk to the railway station for trips out, all hotel staff were very helpful and polite so could not fault that at all. 15 minutes drive from the airport. Local taxi drivers welcoming and on time.
