“Lovely chilled stay”

We only had a couple of nights here as part of a group trip. It was so relaxing here some of us decided to spend the day here rather than a day trip. So glad I did - sitting by the pool or beach listening to the waves was so relaxing. We had a lovely thatched hut as our room. It was huge (obviously meant for more than two as we had four double beds - the hut was split in two ( two double beds per room) with a large outside toilet , wash area and shower. There was a line to hang clothes outside. There is no hot water but it was tepid ( ok for shower). Plenty of towels for shower and beach use. There was a safe. The double beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets. We also had a hammock out front (great fun). We were on the beachfront so could hear the waves (relaxing). Good supply of electricity for charging iPhones etc. Good wifi. The rooms had large electric fans rather that air con. The staff were lovely and restaurant served good food. The breakfast was lovely plate of fruit and then choice of egg dish. The sea was not safe to go in due to heavy waves but large pool great.

“Ok hotel”

This is a decent hotel, but no better than that. The food was ok in the restaurant, but it got boring quickly. Fortunately, I speak Spanish so I was able to communicate with the staff. The rooms were very clean and well air- conditioned.

We booked this hotel at the suggestion of an associate who is Columbian. Before we left I read the reviews and was a bit concerned about what we could expect, and after spending three nights, I thought it might be helpful to set the record straight. First...the staff is excellent. Despite our poor attempts to speak some Spanish, everyone was friendly, helpful, and gracious. From the moment we checked in, to the moment we left, the staff was delightful. The front desk helped us arrange transport, and the housekeeping was attentive, and the service in the bar/ restaurant was all excellent. Second... the food was really good! We had fish for dinners and lunch, and it was perfectly cooked and super fresh. The kitchen is slow, because they cook to order, and everything comes out hot. We brought wine, and they cheerfully added it to the fridge. Third... they have built new rooms. While they may not be the prettiest buildings, they are brand new, super clean, and very comfortable with a fantastic air condition unit. Coming from an alpine location, with no heat and humidity, we loved having an AC at night. The construction was well done and the bathroom was spacious with a safe and well designed closets. The bed was very comfortable and they had extra bedding. Fourth ... power went on and off sometimes,,, which was a local problem... but the WiFi was solid and we downloaded a couple of movies. The area has limited water, and the water pressure is weak...and there is no hot water... but the natural temperature was perfect. The location and the setting is rustic, and could use a little more TLC, but improvements are being made and the staff is excellent... If you come here expecting a five star experience, you will be disappointed. However, if you come here to enjoy the Colombian way of life in a lovely and natural setting. and slow down... you will leave happy and refreshed".. The entire beach area is safe and clean. To the staff... thank you for making your little hotel our home for a few days...
