We spent a week here, half board. The hotel is straightforward and well-run. You get a good room with fantastic views. The food is great both at breakfast and in the evening. We requested two rooms together and got them. Well done, this does not always happen! For a three-star hotel, the facilities and levels of comfort certainly met our expectations, although the beds were firm and the headboards ridged and uncomfortable. The fridge was well used, and a great feature, a kettle in the room would have been good, but I guess it would have stopped us buying coffees from the bar! In terms of food, there are no complaints, after a week the menu in the evening was getting a little boring but this is us being really picky. What I would say is that the restaurant staff do a really great job contrary to some previous reviews. They seemed to do a good job juggling guests and tables while being attentive to our needs. Well done! The beach is great, and our teenage boys loved the diving board on the rocky ledge. Snorkelling was great; walks were good, but the shops and restaurants were limited in October. I guess in high season, there would not be too much of an issue. If you want a good mid-range hotel in a quiet but fantastic beach location in Spain, look no further.

“Stunning Little Hotel”

We have ZERO complaints, the Hotel is beautifully situated in the Cove @ Tamariu, literally on the beach. Clean, comfortable, sublime view from sea facing room, good food, great staff. Views from Upper level terrace (Bar) & Dining level below’s terrace are amazing. 100% will be back❤️

We had a terrific stay at Hotel Hostalillo and truly enjoyed our time in Tamariu. It is a 1:45 minute drive from Barcelona, thank Google maps for directions. The breakfast is excellent with abundant fresh fruit, a wide selection of breads, pastries and croissants. Fresh country eggs! Make sure you get a sea view room, we were on the 4th floor & enjoyed the beautiful views. The parking is a bit tricky, there is a free village lot on a side street, it took me a few attempts to find it. We had dinner 1 evening, it was ok not exceptional. We loved the seafood meals at the restaurants along the beachfront. Ask for beach towels & chairs at the front desk. The staff is very friendly.

Just about everything was great about this hotel, our superior room, enormous bed, great and regularly changed linen.The cleaning, the reception staff and, of course, the fantastic view - which is why we returned after 58 years. On our second night we entered the dining room and were promptly seated by the Maitre 'd and given menus. We wanted to order some wine and for 15 minutes tried to catch his eye. A party of 5 arrived and were seated at the adjoining table and given their menus. 5 minutes later their drinks order was taken. The Maitre 'd continued to ignore us despite making eye contact more than once. Then the adjoining table hade their food order taken and despite gesticulating to the M 'd he completely blanked us. Another couple had come in and been seated at a nearby table and clearly their patience was less than ours for they left before us! We did not eat there for dinner again. Later in our stay we were in the bar and and asked to have the (World Cup) rugby on TV. The young barman politely explained that because football was on he could not switch channels. We accepted this but asked if he could put it the following night when England were playing. He agreed. The following night we were in the bar again and asked for the rugby. No! said the miserable older barman as there were 2 (local?) couples wanting to watch football. We were 2 English couples wanting to watch the rugby. There was no-one else in the bar. I pointed out to the older barman that I had agreed with his colleague on the previous evening but he would not budge. The younger barman very sensibly suggested a compromise - one half football and second half rugby. We agreed- but at the end of the first half of football the miserable older barman refused to change channels. It left a very sour taste (of rotten apples) with us
