“Charming boutique hotel in excellent location”

We loved this little boutique hotel. Only 24 rooms, 4 on each floor. Beautiful room, ample bathroom. Bathrobes and the best hotel slippers I’ve ever had. Lively, fun neighborhood, St. Germain des Pres. The concierge, Sanjay recommended wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite was Vagenande. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was delicious. Great coffee. Our room was on the street, 4th floor, it was very quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Buci in June. This was my third time staying at the hotel and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The location is perfect, providing a jumping off point to walk to all of my favorite spots in Paris. The rooms are well appointed, clean, and provided ample storage for our clothes / suitcases. However, the biggest highlight of the hotel, outside of its warm modern decor and charm, is the concierge. Sanja truly made sure that we had the perfect visit. Prior to arriving he guided us on dining, art, and other various activities. His attention to detail cannot be rivaled, making him the true gem of the hotel. I cannot wait to come back, as I feel like this is a little slice of Parisian heaven.

Hotel De Buci is the perfect home away from home. The rooms are well appointed with plenty of shelving to unpack and settle in. The beds are comfortable, and our view of Rue De Buci was spectacular. We were able to watch the hustle and bustle of the quaint neighborhood in action. All of the major sites are within easy walking distance, and the hotel is surrounded by wonderful cafes and restaurants. You are given the feeling that you are part of the wonderful neighborhood of Saint Germain Des Pres. Sanjay, the head concierge was welcoming, informative, and an amazing asset to us during our stay. He answered our questions and gave us wonderful guidance. Do not hesitate to reserve your room. You will not be disappointed. 5 stars all the way!

I hesitate to give a not so good review. I was very excited to visit Hotel De Buci again. Almost fifty years ago to the day. Just after my husband and I met we stayed at the Buci on the recommendation of an artist friend. We hadn't been back for various reasons but when we realized we needed a hotel in Paris for three nights this October I found again the Buci. It was the last room available but my gosh what a personal history. We arrived about four in the afternoon on a Sunday and we were struggling to get the bags out of the taxi- you can imagine how old we are now. We were in full view of the woman (I won't call her young lady) behind the check in desk. She didn't acknowledge us until we were fully standing in front of her. At that point she wheeled one bag to the elevator and we were on our own. There was no one else around to help. The greeting, of lack of it, tainted our entire visit. I would expect this at a two and maybe three star hotel but this hotel is a four star hotel. Now about the hotel. Our room was extremely quiet at night. As soon as people started moving around we could hear them on the stairs and if, on our floor, the door to the stairs slamming-heavy door. We could also hear the elevator's switching sound since our room was between the stairs and the elevator. Not really a problem since we are early risers. They worked on the elevator one of the days we stayed and I was very grateful we were on the 1st floor, it was over before they estimated. The spiral stair is very similar to the turrets stars in castles we visited, narrow and steep.I didn't see a second stair? The bath tub was fantastic, loved the heated towel rail and the sinks (two) were ample and included a place for a hand towel, which we noticed many hotels have omitted these days. However the toilet was in a corner cut by the elevator and one had to sit on it a bit sideways. Perhaps if it had been orientated with its back to the elevator wall it would have been a bit less awkward to sit on. The bed was close to an American queen, very comfortable with great sheets. The duvet was as usual in hotels these days way too heavy for the natural temperature of the room which was about 73-75, so at night before we went out for dinner we would turn the AC on at 20 (68F) so we could sleep more comfortably (leave a card in the automatic electricity cut off so the AC stays on.) The light of the thermostat is bright so I put a sock over it. The room size is your typical Parisian hotel room size, very much on the tiny side. We were able to fit our clothes in the two cupboards on each side of the bed with some re-arranging and store our suitcases under the small hall sized table at the end of the bed. There was a luggage rack but the room was too small to use it so we unpacked. Breakfast was very good and ample. Loved the filtered water and glass water containers in the room rather than plastic. Good coffee from the machine. Pleasant breakfast room. On other days we found nice staff and the concierge ordered a car for the airport for us on a very rainy day. The location is superb. I think the description shows the other amenities at the hotel like robes, iron, etc. It also has a spa but we didn't use that, not sure what it consists of although they do offer massages. Not sure if they offer turn down services one night we were given chocolates by the maid as she handed them to me. We were about to go out but no one came after we left. Would I stay here again? Maybe. I feel it is expensive for what we got. There are many places to eat breakfast within 100 yards of the front door so perhaps I wouldn't swing for b'fast. I think if I did stay I would be very careful to assess the size of the room vs the cost. Also do you really get a four star experience? We ran into a couple at breakfast that were staying for two weeks in one of the larger rooms (perhaps it was a suite?) and they loved it. Also at breakfast there were others that clearly were repeat customers. How do I know by the greeting they got from staff. I do want to say we booked directly with the hotel website and it was the most expensive. I did that because I think it was the last room and other sites didn't have any availability, I really wanted to stay here.
