“Great Family Experience.”

Was a bit apprehensive coming here as some of the reviews were less than complimentary.... We're a family of 4 ( teenage girls are 15 & 16 ) and were there at the start of April 2024. We arrived in the early hours and were promptly checked in. Good security at the main entrance. There was a food package left for us with sandwiches, biscuits and water in the 2 rooms we'd booked which was a nice touch, we were starving and the hotel is a little remote for dining out. 1st impressions were good as we all had a great sleep, I found the beds to be comfortable. We all slept well for the duration of our stay. We were at the back end of the hotel, the views on to the mountain were fine, nice sitting out with a glass or 2 of vino before heading out. I'd say the hotel was built either the late 90's or the early noughties, a little dated but spotless. We opted for AI and again having read the reviews were a bit apprehensive. Not sure what people are looking for with buffet style dining but all meals we ate were spot on. Nice glass of wine or beer available on tap too. The poolside is decent, has fake grass around the main area, a small bar at the far end and the piano bar near the restaurant that we frequently utilised for refreshments. On site there are trampolines and crazy golf at the rear, archery and a climbing course if that's your thing. A walk over the flyover and there's the waterpark. You'll need to pay for the rubber rings ( think it was 20 euros with 10 euros returned when handing back ) Decent slides and a fantastic view down to Fuengirola. The waterpark at the top has a massive toddler friendly park that's wide open, perfect for keeping an eye out for wandering kids enjoying themselves. Stand out for us were the animation team. Really friendly team that worked tirelessly through the day and night. The show at night was 1st class, 1st hour for the toddlers and kids, then later a nightly stage shows that really is a credit to Tui. As it was early in the season the shows were in doors. We're back in September and looking forward to seeing them in the open air. Special mention too for Beck, Twig, Ash, Calum & Kyle, not forgetting Oliver ( get Ollie to show you a card trick or 2, I'm not easily impressed but my gast was flabbered with a few of his tricks!! ) We also caught an act at the piano bar outside which was good too. A little cooler in the April evenings but will be perfect in the summer nights. We had a night in Benalmadena & Fuengirola for food, used Uber which worked out about 20 euros a trip, could probably get a taxi a little cheaper. Roughly 10 minutes for each journey. So in summary, a decent hotel with a great staff, would and will return. Toodle-pip troops!

Hotel was nice and so was our room with balcony. Food was cold and not much choice for plain eaters. Hotel was nice and so was our room with balcony. Food was cold and not much choice for plain eaters. No blankets provided for sofa bed. 1 cup between 3 people in our apartment.Housekeeping came once in 5 days. Swimming pool was freezing cold and sun-beds were being hogged by towels and shoes. Entertainment was terrible. Booked a tui trip but got left off the pick up list so missed the trip after waiting for an hour outside. Got rearranged the next day but lots of stress and hassle in between. Not much to do at the hotel and nothing with in walking distance. Waterpark was good but again freezing cold water. Not told we need to pay for rubber rings for slide so didn’t get to use on first day as i didn’t take money with me. Wouldn’t visit again, even the weather wasn’t warm 🤷🏼‍♀️

We have just returned from a week stay here and overall had a great time in the sun as a family of 4. Pros: - The hotel is clean and tidy. - There are plenty of food choices during all 3 meal times so no need for anyone to be hungry (see cons) - always a curry / stew type dish, fresh meat and fish cooked in front of you (plain), big salad bar, fresh bread. English breakfast, pancakes, fruit and pastries (although pastries were always dry!) - Entertainment around the main pool is fab, always something to keep the children entertained. Also bingo and quizzes for adults/families. - The beach club is great - we spent most of our time there and the lifeguards are on it which gives added piece of mind. - Rooms are spacious and made up daily with clean towels. - American diner and Italian restaurants on site were a great break from the buffet - food in these was excellent. - secluded location from main towns but quick and easy to get to Benaldamena or Fuengirola which both have lovely beaches and plenty of food and drinks options for dining out. Cons: - The hotel is quite dated, it didn’t give a luxury feel - but it was clean so not complaining but good for people to know who have higher expectations. - Food choices were basic - lots of choices but nothing ‘special’ (apart from Sushi on Saturday which was fab!) - not everything is hot on the buffet. It didn’t feel very Spanish/Authentic and more catered for Brits (chips, burgers, nuggets etc). - No food available at the beach club (pool snack bar) despite it saying online it is open from mid-April. (You could buy a pizza though). - HV staff are great and put on so much to entertain the children and such a great variety of activities suitable for all ages. - Not enough pillows in the rooms and not very comfortable - every bed gets a long pillow but normal pillows were limited to 2 for 4 people(!) so not the best nights sleep I’ve had away. - cocktails at the main pool bar and piano bar were poor and didn’t contain alcohol unless you requested it be added! However much nicer (and strong!) over at the beach club bar - the sangria at the beach club was also very nice! The overall vibe this hotel gave me was Butlins abroad - take that as you wish. The clientele is variable! Some nights were noisy, we heard arguments/fights a few nights during the week. For a cheap week away in the sun, you can’t go wrong but I’m glad we didn’t visit during peak time or I imagine it would have been a bit chaotic and not our scene!
