“Good value for money”

We have just returned from a week stay here and overall had a great time in the sun as a family of 4. Pros: - The hotel is clean and tidy. - There are plenty of food choices during all 3 meal times so no need for anyone to be hungry (see cons) - always a curry / stew type dish, fresh meat and fish cooked in front of you (plain), big salad bar, fresh bread. English breakfast, pancakes, fruit and pastries (although pastries were always dry!) - Entertainment around the main pool is fab, always something to keep the children entertained. Also bingo and quizzes for adults/families. - The beach club is great - we spent most of our time there and the lifeguards are on it which gives added piece of mind. - Rooms are spacious and made up daily with clean towels. - American diner and Italian restaurants on site were a great break from the buffet - food in these was excellent. - secluded location from main towns but quick and easy to get to Benaldamena or Fuengirola which both have lovely beaches and plenty of food and drinks options for dining out. Cons: - The hotel is quite dated, it didn’t give a luxury feel - but it was clean so not complaining but good for people to know who have higher expectations. - Food choices were basic - lots of choices but nothing ‘special’ (apart from Sushi on Saturday which was fab!) - not everything is hot on the buffet. It didn’t feel very Spanish/Authentic and more catered for Brits (chips, burgers, nuggets etc). - No food available at the beach club (pool snack bar) despite it saying online it is open from mid-April. (You could buy a pizza though). - HV staff are great and put on so much to entertain the children and such a great variety of activities suitable for all ages. - Not enough pillows in the rooms and not very comfortable - every bed gets a long pillow but normal pillows were limited to 2 for 4 people(!) so not the best nights sleep I’ve had away. - cocktails at the main pool bar and piano bar were poor and didn’t contain alcohol unless you requested it be added! However much nicer (and strong!) over at the beach club bar - the sangria at the beach club was also very nice! The overall vibe this hotel gave me was Butlins abroad - take that as you wish. The clientele is variable! Some nights were noisy, we heard arguments/fights a few nights during the week. For a cheap week away in the sun, you can’t go wrong but I’m glad we didn’t visit during peak time or I imagine it would have been a bit chaotic and not our scene!

Arrived 11th April room clean, hotel nice the beds are like bricks we all struggled to sleep all week . 100 euro for the most annoying wrist bands ever you can't take them off!, they are for your room key and security if you come back in a taxi you must show the security your band to show with this hotel which is good and to show all inclusive everywhere. Absolute pain they work when feel like it, had to get it reset multiple times. Food a real let down and the entertainment, same stuff different day entertainment very boring apart from magician Wednesday night. if your kids like hot dogs and burgers like Frisbees this is the place to be. Breakfast probably best time of day freshly made pancakes the kids enjoyed and a full cooked breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit coffee machines and juices. The pool at Holiday village absolutely fantastic new loungers, kids activities, big inflatables and dancing in the pool the reps Juan and Maria brilliant with the kids. Polynesia stunning inside but pool rubbish and the loungers fit for a bin. The riwo most run down in our opinion wouldn't have stayed there. The beach club brilliant drinks part of all inclusive but all food must be paid for. We did have a great day there. Cross the bridge or the staff give you into a row! Recommend the marina we spent a lot of time there the looky looky men annoying though come to you when trying to eat. The English reps brilliant I got a lot of info from them for buses where to go and to get bolt app downloaded and put in Spanish where you want to go or its more expensive for us tourists. The taxi drivers are all nuts we had several near misses ! The hotel isn't central so it's bus or taxis to get anywhere and can be costly. Asked to extend room until pick up time told no problem come back in morning 52 euro. Husband went to pay and told no one could have said that they are fully booked made out a liar and treated diabolical so we now have to sit about 6 hours till pick up time we were hoping to use the pool one more time then get changed and go. They said you can use their changing rooms and showers down stairs but they are disgusting so is the toilets by pool so no thanks ! Once they cut your band off you cant use the facilities apparently. Good holiday away if by pool or out of hotel but to be honest we wouldn't rush back there are far better resorts!
