“Nice stay”

The hotel was very clean, staff was helpful including Brian at the front desk. Room was clean and appointed nicely. We didn't have time this trip to use any other amenities but they appeared to be very good. Will definitely stay here again.

We recently had an excellent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Naperville. This was a last minute unexpected stay after an extreme service failure at a nearby competing Marriott property where they overbooked and gave our room away and were unable to accommodate us at their property or a nearby sister property. I have elite status with both Marriott and Hilton. My husband and I were traveling with my 86 year old father and planned to have a two bedroom, two bathroom suite. After Marriott gave away this Platinum Elite’s two bedroom suite, we desperately searched for two standard rooms at any hotel in the area. The only one I could find was Hilton Garden Inn and it was their last two rooms so I wasn’t expecting much. I was very stressed when we arrived and immediately Brian at the front desk made a very positive impression, shifting my mood. He offered a perfect balance of friendliness, professionalism and efficiency that immediately made an experienced traveler know that we were in good hands. He made an extra effort to thank me for my loyalty and went out of his way to make sure I received all of my Diamond Elite benefits during our stay. Our rooms were consistent with past stays at other Garden Inns, comfortable, clean and appointed with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. At any time during our 3 day stay we needed anything, a quick visit or call to the front desk was all that was needed. Many comfort items like towels, Kleenex and soap were kept at the front desk for easy access. They even had batteries! If I had to criticize anything it would be the pillows. Many Hilton brands including Garden Inn favor soft mushy pillows that are not supportive for people with neck issues. We made do by borrowing a couple of pillows from my dad’s room and still slept adequately. The breakfast was a reasonably priced buffet and offered a choice between continental and full. My elite benefits covered most of the full breakfast for two of us. Nora is another shining star at the hotel. She manages food and beverage but seems to be involved in other departments as well. We looked forward to her smiling face each morning at breakfast and sometimes filling in at the front desk. One morning at breakfast, another manager named Crystal came over to introduce herself and make sure our stay was going well. Naperville is a suburban city with no five star hotels anywhere but if you want a solid, good quality four star hotel with some of the best people in the industry taking care of you, consider the Hilton Garden Inn. We will again next time we visit our family in Naperville.

We were in town visiting family and spent a night at HGI-Naperville. I always pick up a key card in the event the digital key doesn't work. As a HH gold member, I normally received a credit for food/drinks and water/snacks when checking in. Brian checked us in around 9 pm; gave us 2 bottles of water and mentioned $20 credit. We picked 5th floor, the highest with 2 queen beds. The room was clean with the exception of some hairs on the shower curtain. It was comfortable to spend a night. Note that they don't have SmartTV for Netflix. The walls are quite thin as we could hear the neighbor's TV until 1:30 am. Good shower pressure and bed was comfy. We missed breakfast and only got an orange juice. I grabbed a Gatorade and couple bags of chips for the road as all these were still within $20. Sedina checked us out but she never asked how was the stay. She said everything was settled including the snacks/drink that we got. To my surprise, i was charged $4 for the orange juice. I tried calling the hotel twice and it always went to the call center. No one has ever gotten back to me about the charge. I was told that I had $20 credit and then they charged me?
