“Brilliant family holiday nearly 5 stars”

The place is nearly brilliant. Some reviews are miles off! Pools are class. 3 of them and it meant the place did not feel too busy. Beach is literally on the doorstep and it’s lovely. Down some stairs direct from the hotel. It’s awesome. Food is really good and fresh all the time. And lots of choice even for me and I’m really fussy. Drinks are fine with dinner also and the bar has a good selection. Reception are friendly and helpful. We requested certain rooms and they were spot on. 641 is a suite with a sea view and it’s perfect. The staff work incredibly hard all day. The kids loved the arcade. The major let downs and they are enough to maybe put us off next year but probably not as the rest is so good. The bar is often staffed with one person and it needs to be two especially at the pool bar during the day. It’s not that bad so not a deal breaker. The big issue is the staggering lack of seating at night. There virtually is nothing outdoors aside from a few tables and then people sitting outside the coffee bar. If you are a group of more than 4 it’s not easy at all and it’s bizarre they have not looked at it. Loads of people just sitting on a wall out side the entertainment. We quickly learned this and sat outside the main restaurant and just popped back and forth for drinks but we also had a waiter who was brilliant and he set up a table for 8 of us and brought us red wine when we ran out so it really suited us in the end but had we not been able to sit at the restaurant then we had nowhere to sit outside other than a wall. The hotel needs to take a good look at this as they have tons of space outdoors to use it more effectively. If you like to use a gym which we do, then this one is pretty poor. Very very small and does not have much in it. All that said, the place is lovely and clean and it’s been a top week for us so far. If they can sort out the outdoor seating issues and get a few more staff on the bars then it’s pretty much a 5/5.

The hotel has a great location.Each member of staff are working extremely hard!!The hotel is badly understaffed. We paid for an all inclusive service,if you dont drink alcohol,it does not worth it.People with half board service can eat,breakfast,dinner and lunch,and they can drink whatever they want,nobody is checking it.during the day they also can have snacks and drinks,what is not included in their package,but again nobody is checking it. It is bit disappointing,and is not the peoples fault who are on half board,they just taking advantage of the situation. The food selection is great,and delicious. The hotel staff providing a 5 star service,but the hotel managament team definetely doing something wrong!

So I’ll start from the beginning… we arrived to the hotel at 9pm and first impressions were good. Reception friendly and informative, and hotel looked nice and clean. We went to the restaurant to have tea that they said was set up for us, it was adequate- although my son wouldn’t eat anything. Allocated room 151, we struggled to find the room as we couldn’t work out the lifts and you have to use 2 lifts to get to floor 1. Asked someone to show us to the room which they did- they were really helpful and friendly and took us all the way there. When we got to the room we had a very big shock- it was awful. I’m not sure if it felt like a prison or a slum. It was old, dirty, smelt awful, child’s bed was like a prison put up bed and there were parts of the wall falling off. I immediately rang reception and said we could not stay in this room, they told us they had no other rooms and we would need to stay there the night and try again in the morning. There was no way we could stay there one night, so myself, my husband and my 4 year old went back up to reception with all our cases and showed them the pictures of the abysmal room they had sent us to and said we couldn’t stay in there, if they had no other room we would sleep on the lovely sofas in the lobby. They magically found us another room- 126. We were initially disappointed to hear it was on the same floor but they reassured us it had been renovated, so the three of us and our cases made our way to the new room. This room was much better- clean and new. After the initial negative start we really have loved the hotel itself, the pools are great, there is plenty of room, things for kids to do (including free mini golf, splash park, slides, football pitch, park), the walk to the beach is great. The meals were good, although for the size of the hotel the serving hatches are small and there is often ques. The options also weren’t great for kids- my boy lived off pasta/ spaghetti for a full week. The biggest down side for us (as non drinkers) was the soft drinks. Although there are help yourself machines the soft drinks are awful and all flat. And stayed that way for the full week- the Fanta orange in the restaurant was like water on day one and still was on the last day. The best meal of the week by far was the route 66 restaurant- all three of us loved the food and the drinks were from bottles so tasted delicious compared to what we had drank all week. Lastly, on the last day they take your all inclusive band off at 12midday- I’ve never stayed anywhere were they have done this. Especially given that we didn’t arrive until 9pm on the first day! The hotel has so much potential to be amazing but there are just areas that really let it down and for us who have stayed in a lot of 4* Canary hotels- we wouldn’t stay at this one again!

On arriving at the hotel after 10pm we were offered the customary cold buffet but no drink. Anyway on to the room 151. We entered the room and the smell was like a swimming pool changing room (Damp/Foisty smell) the child bed they offered was like a prison bed and the room was filthy my socks went straight in the bin. My wife called reception to be told sleep there tonight and we will try to accommodate you elsewhere tomorrow… not a chance all cases and the 3 of us marched back through the hotel upto the 4th floor reception and I demanded another room and the bloke behind counter said the hotel was full. I told him if he didn’t find a room we would be sleeping in the lovely sofa in middle of the reception area until I could take a flight back home. He then like a magician found another room 126 that was lovely. The food was good but very little choice on the dessert front. The soft drinks were ALWAYS flat and tasteless. No water offered within your room and best of all check out at 12.00 they cut off your all inclusive !!! I told them we had paid for 6 nights all inclusive but had only had 5 all inclusive days so could we eat lunch before we left for the airport. The hotel refused but we ate anyway as we had paid for this pleasure. This hotel could be 100% better with just a few little changes ( water in your room) but the management seem content in taking peoples money and not really giving them what they have worked hard for all year round. I would love to come back here as the pools and beach and it’s location are amazing but I highly doubt I will return.

Absolute basics Fridge could you not even put a couple of bottles of water for people especially since you have these available in the hotel wouldn’t take much Lay out is annoying if your at the lobby during the day after lunch has ended you can’t get a water or juice need to trail to pool bar ! Mike’s needs more staff and to be opened longer 1-6 useless wee coffee after breakfast would be nice ! Entertainment was rubbish ! My husband provided more entertainment than the paid acts ! Need to step this up Food had high hopes after seeing YouTube I was very dissatisfied yes there was fresh pasta every night ( I presume to do with the Italians that are catered for ) the little taster dishes were a let down same random seafood most nights and tables left dirty for so long you struggled to find a clean table to sit at Half the time the coffee and juice machines weren’t working meaning large queues just to get a drink ! Beds are awful so hard I did request and finally get a mattress topper which helped pillows are also dreadful worst I have ever had ! Pools no tables or bins around no one clearing up and then to be told a 50p charged every-time I wanted a fresh towel ! Are you joking 🙃 Overall disappointing hotel experience first time at H10 and I think it will be the last a lot of the staff were rude or grumpy hardly any entertainment or anyone telling us about any no engagement other than the two photographers who were lovely and chatty and friendly !
