To be honest this was the 7th visit by myself and my wife, so you can tell from the start we like this hotel but always try to give unbiased reviews and consider what people want to know. Planning stages. There were 7 in our party including an elderly person with disabilities so we had to do some planning. Tips number one,....if you have any requirements speak to the hotel in advance. Maybe they cant fix everything but they have no chance without communication. Arrival. We arrived around 2pm and all rooms were ready and checkin went very smoothly. We recognised some of the reception staff and at least one of them recognised our faces from a previous trip. We were given the new wristbands to use in your rooms and also had a chat about using the bands to pay for things at the hotel. Have that conversation as its well worth doing. Makes it so much easier not having to carry cash down to the pool for a lunch time pint. Rooms. All of us were allocated modernised rooms (with walk in showers) facing Portaventura (this is our preferred side). Rooms were clean and stayed clean throughout our holiday. IMHO, beds were comfy and blackout curtains worked well Meals. With a party of 7 we thought we would have issued getting to sit together at meal times but no such problems. We usually got a round table in the conservatory our the staff put some tables together in the main part of the restaurant. Food. Like I say, I will always be honest. We miss the glass of cava you used to be able to get at breakfast and we remember the days when the hotel used to actually carve a joint at evening meals. Occasionally you might get some chips and find you got some warm ones (tip here..if any food is at the end of a serving, it MIGHT be warm rather than hot but wait a couple of minutes and the staff will have already spotted it and new hot food will be on its way). Oh yes, during our staff big tubs of ice-cream were replaced by individual pots. Yes, this helps with keeping things clean (some tourists don't appear to be able to ice cream scoops properly) but Im not so sure on the flavours Entertainment (day time). The hotels does a variety of activities for guests during the day and have a great team running them. If you want to take part in these, interact with the staff. You get to learn about them and they get to learn about you and it can soon become like playing with friends. One issue they cannot control is the weather and they obviously have to plan ahead. We didn't have any pool based games whilst we were there because the forecast indicated "iffy" weather. The forecast was pessimistic and as a Brit anything above 16deg is the height of summer. (TBH, we understood why and had a laugh with the staff about it. Water polo has been ordered for October). At this point I will mention the pool as you will read reports elsewhere that the water is freezing. Its not. Its feels cold when you first get in, but some regulates itself. The issue is that the air temp (at our time of visit) is at least 8 degrees hotter than the water and the hotels around the grounds means you get a a hotspot of air trapped between them. TIP -- just jump in. Entertainment (night time) . When we stayed entertainment was inside (due to weather...cold, not wet. And again, we've held BBQs back home in colder weather but the hotel have to account for people sat around who might feel it. We think it also affected the acts as some lacked the physical space to show off their talents and some of the acts had to cope with some guests who just wanted a drink in the bar and to talk loudly. Both of these factor are completely different when entertainment is outside. Staff. I've said it before and once again, one of the best things about the hotel is the staff. From our experience they have always been polite and friendly. We've seen reviews saying the opposite and everybody has their opinion but I wouldn't how much of the negative is due to people not taking the time to interact with the staff and also a lack of understanding of the "Iberian mentality". Telling the staff straight what issues are some they can get on with solving them is far better than going all around the house with a long winded tale as to why your patio door doesn't lock gets it fixed quicker for everybody (and its easy to do this without being rude) In all a great 7 day break for the whole family. My "never been abroad before" mother in law loved it and says she felt very welcome. As regards myself and my wife......going back in October

Just back from the Salauris palace and l had a great holiday .l couldn't fault it .The room l had was very modern with a walk in shower which was one of the best showers I've ever had in a hotel.The food was very nice plenty of choice and well cooked the chefs/cooks replenished it often so it was fresh most of the time, there was something for all tastes. The hotel staff were all lovely , always happy and pleasant the reception always greeted you with a smile as did the waiting staff who worked extremely hard to ensure your table was cleared .The rooms were cleaned everyday and to a high standard . The animation team were great with the kids and the adults who joined in.The evening entertainment was first class some really good artists on . I would definitely give this hotel a try , l am considering a return to this hotel next may for another holiday here.

Visited this hotel previously in 2019 and had a really great stay so thought we would try a return visit and we got a good deal with TUI .Check in was fairly hassle free and instead of key cards you get a bracelet that doubles up to open your room door and you can load it with cash and hands free pay for drinks or food at hotel bars. Our room was similar to our last stay slightly updated with fresh floor coverings bathroom still the same shower over bath towels changed every day when left in the bath if not they weren’t changed,we were there for a week and our bed linen wasn’t changed in that time penny pinching I would guess. Now here is where my review starts to go down hill the hotel restaurant was in our opinion an absolute shambles Or organised chaos the previous visit to this hotel was a very relaxed experience for food and this time it was anything but relaxed. If you are hoping for peace and quiet while eating forget it it is like a mad house children running wild everywhere Plates smashing all over as they attempt to return to there tables unsupervised by parent who let them run wild lifting food putting it back and generally being un hygienic ,floor covered in spilt food and not enough staff to clean it plates sitting on tables not being lifted,queue of 10 to 15 people waiting on the one toaster for a large amount of guests same for the egg station crazy.Now for the quality of the food since our previous visit the breakfast wasn’t too bad with the usual hard to get wrong sausage bacon and eggs offerings and cereals with someone cooking omelette if your prepared to wait the evening meal in our opinion was very poor offering no roast meats on offering once no steak at all all very poor cuts of pork lamb and chicken and some hot plate offerings with the same meats Vegetables and a few potato options the whole eating experience is just not pleasant. also no hand sanitizer anywhere in the hotel .In a positive they have a rooftop area with a hot tub with sun beds which is adult only and is peaceful for sunbathing as for the general pool area we went down for a few drinks before we headed to get ready for tea and obviously the lack of staff could be noticed here as the amount of rubbish and cigarettes butts laying under tables was terrible generally all the staff we came across were very pleasant and generally hard working. This hotel was number one on this site back in 2019 on our last it’s going to take a lot of hard work to get back there again and just to finish off not once on our visit did we encounter any higher level management walking about and keeping an eye on things it’s not all about the profits you need the guests to enjoy their stay there needs to be a big improvement before we would return and it’s a pity as the hotel was really great hope this gives you an idea on what to expect.oh and on a final side note I arrived home with a dose of some sort of bug can’t blame it on the dining room but who knows.
