“Good (4*) hotel not Excellent (5*)”

Just returned from a week's stay All Inclusive during the May half term with our 2 kids (4 & 7) We had room 3031 which was on the top floor a block closest to the kids pool. Just returned from a week's stay All Inclusive during the May half term with our 2 kids (4 & 7) We had room 3031 which was on the top floor a block closest to the kids pool. Room was good, bathroom massive, we even had a sea view which we didn't pay for or expect. Positive things about hotel ..... - Massive complex - We thought the food was good as a whole for an all inclusive. - Plenty of pools - Plenty of sunbeds - Great staff - Fantastic drinks selection (All top brands) Negatives...... - Hotel and grounds abit tired and in need of makeover some work - Not enough bar staff at the right times in Disco Bar - Piano bar ordering system isn't great as not all waiters can take your drinks order. But we never waited more then 5/10 mins maximum for a drink. - The Janibo restaurant was not enough during kids holidays, if you were not there at 7pm when it opened then you may have to wait up to 30 mins for a table. Also 7pm dinner time is abit late for our children personally. - Saltwater swimming pools (kids pools isn't salt) All in all we had a good time apart from the wind and not much sun, obviously not the hotels fault! I would say this hotel is definitely 4 star not 5 star as it claims to be. We would return again but not during kids holidays as we personally felt the hotel.was not ready for how busy it was.

So we stayed at the Rubicon Palace for a week half board. The hotel has a generous amount of space, the staff are really friendly and the place is kept very clean. The rooms are also quite spacious with big bathrooms and really good showers. You have a choice of a number of pools but we did not expect the majority of them to be salt water! Maybe we should have done more research but we had never come across a hotel with mainly salt water pools. It took most of the week to get our son to use them. This took some shine from the holiday. The food is generally very good. They could maybe introduce a bit of pizza or burgers for a meal or two for the children but that aside the food was good. The real frustration was the queuing system at meal times. It’s fair enough to see a queue waiting outside for the evening meal but all the main food is in a single line so this creates another long line inside. Naturally people don’t want to be seen to jump the queue so it doesn’t matter whether you want one single item, which may be near the end of the queue, you have to do the full queue. This brings major frustration. The staff clearly work very hard but the system in place does not help them. The televisions in the room have English channels but you can’t get a decent picture. We raised this with reception and an engineer came out but nothing changed. We had only Sky News to fall back on. The WiFi was also hit and miss. So some good and some not so good points. We enjoyed a nice relaxing week but doubt we will return.

We have just returned from a week here. I have a mixed review. Our room was lovely, spacious with two twin beds pushed together. Our towels and bedding was not changed once in seven days. After four days we had to call reception to ask for some tea and coffee in the room as his was not replenished daily . The food was OK, Very repetitive with the same food every night with cold chips and vegetables. Drinks ordered with dinner took forever to come. A La Carte the Asian Fusion was nice but crying baby and children running around spoiled the experience. Maybe have a time for children and time for adults. only Italian, food nice but very cut and shut. Sit down order within seconds, starter, main, dessert and out within 35 mins ready for the next booking We heard so many horror stories about the steak restaurant we cancelled and went down to the marina Piano bar entertainment was dreadful, no atmosphere and very low energy To top of our negative experience, we moved to this hotel last minute at an extra £600 cost as we were informed that there was building work in the garden and pool area of the hotel we had booked. We arrived her to find building work in the reception/piano bar every day and building work in one of the restaurants Pool towels are 10E deposit, if you want to swap them at the end of the day there is a 50c cost for clean towels For us there were too many small niggles for this to be a five star hotel, no clean sheets or towels, cockroaches on the balcony and bathroom. I appreciate there is a green eco initiative at this hotel but dirty towels and beds for the price paid is unacceptable We would not return unfortunately, we are used to a better standard of hotel.
