I stayed at this hotel in Sorrento with a group of friends. Some rooms were better than others. All the staff were super friendly, almost all spoke English. The breakfast was quite good, many choices, the maitre Edmundo was super friendly and welcomed us every morning with a beautiful smile. Reception staff were ok, Gennaro the best. The pool was great, clean and with plenty of sunbeds, although there weren't many people using it. All the bar staff were great, Angelo always smiling and kind, gave us great advice on what to do in Sorrento and he made delicious cocktails for us everynight. If we return to Sorrento we will return to this hotel.

“Pleasant stay. ”

This hotel is nice. Only faults I have are price of drinks and the room facing into the road although I never heard traffic. Staff were ok not overly friendly but ok . I would return again . Could do with a little music during the day

If you are traveling on a budget and want a reasonable hotel within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants, Grand Hotel Flora may well fit the bill. The hotel lobby is very beautiful with tons of tile, a sweeping spiral staircase to the second floor, and a very large offset atrium and pool area. However, there are some compromises. We moved to this hotel as a last minute change during our travels and instantly had regrets. As beautiful as the lobby is, the rooms are sorely lacking. With minimal decor and a wall to wall tile floor, our room was cold and stark. That, however, paired very well with the pocket door to the bathroom - it was so poorly maintained and out of alignment that it creaked and groaned as if a crypt was opening each time we went in and out. The noise of the door, though, didn't compare to the outside street noise that continued well into the early hours of the morning. Until about 2 AM you could hear cars, motorbikes, and the occasional ambulance or police vehicle fly by; at 4 PM the delivery vehicles and nearby trains started rolling. Another point of criticism is the lack of glasses or cups in the bathroom and the response from the front desk that we could go get some from the poolside bar. Other issues, like mold along the bathroom window edges and an abundance of flies in the room and pool area added to the crypt like feeling. In summary, we just never really felt that customer satisfaction was a concern here. Unless you are a budget traveler with a really good set of ear plugs, this hotel may not be for you.
