“Great location”

My wife loved this hotel as she said the room has everything she expected for a room - places to hang clothes, put luggage, hooks in the shower, ironing board, etc. I liked the roof top restaurant that not only had great food but brilliant view of San Jose. My wife loved this hotel as she said the room has everything she expected for a room - places to hang clothes, put luggage, hooks in the shower, ironing board, etc. I liked the roof top restaurant that not only had great food but brilliant view of San Jose. The staff were all friendly and helpful - particularly good recommendation on the hospital to go to when my wife broke her rib..... and really cheap medical costs ($300 for consultation and X-Rays). The location is brilliant as it is next to the main attract in San Jose - the Threatre...so easiest way to find it is to aim for the Theatre.

“An OK hotel in the centre of town”

An ‘OK hotel’ right in the centre. We only stayed one night and it met our needs but not likely to be a destination in its own right. WiFi not great in rooms. Breakfast fine and started earlier than some hotels so good. Check in a touch slow, check out seamless.

“Central but unimpressive hotel”

Don't be misled by the photo. The hotel is in the centre just next to where the kids etc hang out, although next to the lovely Theatre. Rooms are comfortable. Top-floor glassed-in restaurant unimpressive - a missed opportunity. We lamented we should have stayed in the Grano de Oro not so far away... more

Lovely old place with a fantastic courtyard open-air restaurant.

The hotel is located rather centrally, on Plaze de la Culture and opposite the impressive structure of National Theatre (with its great café) and with Avenue Central just behind. The hotel is located rather centrally, on Plaze de la Culture and opposite the impressive structure of National Theatre (with its great café) and with Avenue Central just behind. Possibly, reflecting on the rather rough character of the city, there is no reception on the ground floor but its situated on the fifth floor. The rest of the ground floor is given to concessions. Lifts were very swift though. Watch out for the glass floor by the lift on the top floor as it may be a bit disorientating. Our Superior Room was very expansive, with bathroom area separated from the rest only by partitioning. The bed was large and comfortable. There was ample wardrobe space; fridge was right next to it. Coffee-making facility and safe box were provided. TV had some English-speaking channels. WiFi signal was good. We didn’t eat at the hotel but although the dining area was nicely appointed the menu was rather limited. Breakfast was very good, with a good range of cold and hot dishes and great fruit selection.
