First of all I would like to thank the reception staff, we were given an absolutely beautiful seaview room. Thank you to all the staff in the dining room, always polite and pleasant, I feel bad I didn't get the man's name (black suit), helped me all the time as I am ceolliac, talked me through options, there was always bread (with a dedicated toaster), muffins, biscuits. So much choice. I had gluten free pizza twice which was amazing, best I have tasted. The food in general was fabulous, cooked really well and very tasty, only complaint would be that nothing is very hot, only lukewarm but plenty of microwaves around. There is good entertainment every night for kids and adults. Weather was a bit dodgy, chilly some evenings. If the entertainment is inside the wooden chairs are so uncomfortable. Only complaint in the evening is the bar staff tend to ignore people on all inclusive in favour of serving people who pay cash and would probably tip. No one ever asked if we wanted a drink, they just rushed past whilst clearing the table, but people without a wristband they almost ran to serve them. But if you managed to shout them they would take your order, they were all very friendly apart from one man who we thought quite rude. The pool area is nice but I would imagine in the summer months it would be too busy, and the pool is quite small. Fantastic beach on the doorstep. Lovely and flat to walk along the beach or the shops/bars across the road. Buses are outside the hotel. All in all a wonderful holiday in a spotless beautiful hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Just got back from a week at the golden donaire Hotel The Hotel is spotless comfy beds nice sea view food was excellent the staff were very helpful would definitely recommend will be back soon ample sunbeds pool very clean ideal beach location

Still here on my last couple of days. Will section the review so you can look at what interests you. The Hotel. Really nice hotel. Clean modern room with comfy bed and ample storage space. Every room has a nice balcony and as we were on a corner we had a huge balcony. Tea making facilities are in the room and they give you some tea/coffee/milk sachets everyday. We were on the 7th floor so the view was great, but it is a bit more windy due to the height. Cleaners come every day and clean the room and make your bed. En-suite is nice with a lovely shower. 3 lifts means there are no delays (in May). Food wise the restaurant is nice and modern with a reasonable selection of food for each sitting. My only gripe is that even though the food is on baine maries to keep it warm, everything is just lukewarm. It's like the food has been cooked and just left to cool while it is out. They really need to look at this. Hotel pool. Nice pool of an average size and a really large area with lots of sun beds. You can even laze on a sunbed and look at the beach through the glass panels by the edge. Unfortunately though when music is played it is via one speaker and it's quiet so you can't laze by the pool enjoying the music. Don't know why they won't turn it up as in most hotels. For some reason as well you have to ask for a parasol as they keep them in a room by the pool. Again I can't understand why they are not in the parasol bases, as they are all already dotted around the sun beds. Staff. As in Spain everywhere, all the staff are amazing. Reception, cleaners, waiters are all happy and friendly. The animation staff work hard so you enjoy your stay. This is why we go to different countries but it's the welcome of the Spanish that always brings us back to Spain/the Canaries. Location. La Pineda is a quieter place compared to Salou so if you want a relaxing holiday, this is the place for you. The hotel is literally right on the beach and you can have a nice stroll along the long promenade which runs alongside the beach. Close by are rows of shops and restaurants so there are options if you wish to dine out. Travel/Excursions Use the Plana buses to get around to the local towns and Barcelona. A card can be loaded with 10 euros for 10 trips so is great value. There are also electric bikes and scooters to hire. We hired a couple of scooters & hoad a nice ride to Salou and back. Close by are Salou which is bigger and livelier than La Pineda. Cambrils is a nice place. A bit posh with a harbour and a nice old town. Taragona is a larger town with lots to see and several Roman ruins. And I recommend a trip to Barcelona. A stunning city. Do a bus tour and you can take both the blue route and the red route. Lovely old apartments and every road seems tree lined. My only regret is that I couldn't spend a few days here as there is so much to do. The Basilica is an awesome sight. There is a market also at Bonavista and we went there, but halt the stalls seem to be local produce and the other half are clothes. It doesn't seem geared for the tourist market, more locals. So I would give it a miss if I came back again. Very close by there is of course also Port Aventura for the thrill seekers. So would I come back to Golden Donaire Beach? Yes I would as bar the few niggles, it's location and facilities are great. In fact in conversation, many come back every year and often more than once per year.
