We picked this hotel as my partner took part in the Ironman, so the location was perfect. The hotel staff were all very friendly, helpful with some going out of their way for us. We had a sea view room on the top floor (7th) which was quite small but very clean. The view was perfect and got the sun for most of the day. The hotel has a roof terrace which is a great asset for the hotel, with loungers, day beds and 2 hot tubs with the added bonus of being an adult only area. The inside pool area again is a lovely addition and great if the weather isn't too good outside. The hotel has a gym which is a little old, tired and basic but has enough to have complete if basic workout. We booked half board for ease. I agree with the previous review that food was very rarely hot, but we thought there was always a good selection at both breakfast and dinner, we certainly didn't go hungry and we didn't find anything running out staff replenished everything quickly. There were some busy times, however staff were very quick to clear tables to make space for people. Yes the train line is across the road from the hotel, but slightly hidden by trees and although trains run until late and start early, they are very quiet so you dont notice them after a while. They are so much quieter than anything in the UK. I do agree that there are not many loungers for the amount of guests, I wouldn't want to be in the hotel in the height of season, but in Oct it was ok. I guess lots of people go to the beach as this was only a 5 mins walk away and is vast. Things to note: There is no kettle in the room, but you can get one from reception for 30 Euros, which you get back when you take the kettle back. you can hire decent pools towel for 10 Euros, again you get this money back. There is a sauna in the inside pool area. This is 7 Euros per person for 30 mins. We thought this was worth every penny as it's in a private area which also has a shower, so you can go from hot to cold.

“Nice enough”

Firstly credit to all the lovely staff reception dining cleaners I think the Spanish are truly amazing polite people The food was really nice fresh varied breakfast always a little hit and Miss but you expect that in a large hotel. Roof terrace beautiful and relaxing didn’t go near the downstairs pool as it’s predominantly for kids and very small . Room was clean layout was questionable. Huge downside was air con absolutely dire not fit for purpose it was sticky and uncomfortable in the nights guy came up checked it and said it was how was set I’d have happily paid fir a fan as it would have been more effective. All in all a good holiday area a little tired but aren’t we all !!

The location of the hotel is fabulous, near to all the main shops, bars and restaurants, within 100m. But you have to be able to ignore the train which runs frequently less than 50m from the hotel. The hotel accommodated my request for a low floor, which was appreciated. The reception, dining room and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. There is no information in the room to guide you with things like connecting to Wi-Fi (which you can only connect to in the reception), how to access the rooftop solarium, the hotel amenities and the television channels, to which there was only CNN in English. The rooms would benefit from having kettle facilities, as trying to get tea and take it to your room is impossible, especially when it is cold and rainy. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was due to other people's reviews.With regards to the food being excellent , this was far from the case. A lot of the food was served barely warm And they had an area which they called shore cooking , which was basically one man cooking chicken or park on a griddle , which was also used on a morning for eggs. At busy times the tables were scarce and the food ran out and took a long time to be replenished. The bacon was ham and the sausage were chorizo. Be aware , they also charge for table water. There was no bar open in the hotel the whole time we were there and we were told to go to the snack bar to get our drinks and evening entertainments , which was outside of the hotel on the main street. This was not so much an issue other than the fact that the snack bar was actually a restaurant, which had no allocated seating for the hotel guests. This kind of felt like we were forced to go out, as there was no lounge area to relax in. Not sure how this hotel got a fast star rating , but in my opinion , having stayed in lots of four star hotels, this only warrants a three. I would happily come back to this resort as I thought it was beautiful but I would not stay in this hotel again.
