“Superb place to stay! We loved it!”

It would be hard to find enough superlatives to describe the amazing Flynn’s beach resort in Port Macquarie. Situated within a 5-minute walk of Flynn's beach which is great for surfing and sunbathing, the complex of apartments is set around a beautiful (and beautifully kept) garden with two small swimming pools together with sun loungers. There is also a tennis court and as a part of the complex, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor areas serving good and sensibly priced pub food. Our apartment (room 101 ) was a very large 2 bedroomed flat equipped with a lounge area, big screen TV, reasonable wi-fi, a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, fridge and freezer and a good set of crockery and cutlery. The apartment also had a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer together with a clothes horse for hanging out your clothes. The two bedrooms were large and comfortable with ample wardrobe space and there was a delightful balcony overlooking the garden. It is not an exaggeration to say that you could actually choose to live here for your home rather than simply visit on holiday (and indeed some people were doing that). There is ample car parking in the shade, and we received a warm informative and helpful welcome at reception from Eddy. His friendliness and knowledge of both the apartments and the local area was a real positive. I paid £229 for two nights. I wish we could have stayed for longer!

“Good location, quite set in nice garden”

Good location, very quite with beaches a short walk away. Pools and tennis court are good. Staff lovely and very helpful It is located a few KM'S from the town center but it is a great location and quite. Plenty of activities for the kids and beaches are patrolled by life savers

We booked into the Wyndham Flynn’s Beach Resort for 2 weeks using Interval International Guest Certificates issued to us after Covid cancellations. The certificates gave the resort address as 2 Murray Street, Port Macquarie. After driving several hours we finally arrived. Tired, excited, glad to be there. We couldn’t find Flynn’s Beach Resort in Murray Street so I went to inquire at that address which was ‘North Point’. The Receptionist said we probably would be staying there but we had to check in somewhere else - at the Flynn’s Beach resort 5 kms down the road. She gave us the address. So back to the car, disappointed, puzzled and slightly cranky. We arrived at the next resort only to be told we had to go to The Wyndham building a few blocks away. We did. No parking. Now seriously cranky. Rebecca must have seen we were trying to park and came out to help us. She offered us a champagne and said we should have received a phone call explaining where to go initially. She was a very good hostess and explained everything we needed to know about the apartment we would be staying in back at North Point - which is not a Wyndham property but Wyndham owns apartments there. We very firmly said no to the offer of a presentation. So, an hour later, we finally reached our accommodation. We were blown away with the apartment until we looked out the window. No ocean view. Oh no! We looked over the town, roofs, a noisy road and a big dirt square that I presume will be built on. I don’t know why we were placed there. I had rung Flynn’s Beach Resort a couple of weeks before to ask a few questions about the room, requesting a quiet room away from traffic, and the receptionist found our booking. She didn’t say anything about us not actually staying there. This was not an ideal start to our holiday. All queries had to go through a Flynn’s Beach number. We had to travel there if we wanted to use the on site resources. Our TV didn’t work so we had to call the number. Everyone was helpful and a handyman was dispatched immediately (twice) when we had problems. The apartment was great (except for the view and the huge balcony which received no sun at any time of the day- in August). It was right in town and within walking distance to nearly everything. I’ll write a separate review on North Point. The moral of the story. Ask where you will actually staying if you book Wyndham Port Macquarie.

“Great escape for a young family”

The accommodation was very well priced. Cosy two-bedroom apartments with almost everything you need. Both pools are heated and great for kids. New management trying to get on top of everything. Only negatives are that the apartment could do with a update / deep clean and the wifi is weak
