“Good Base for Barcelona City Break ”

We used this hotel as a base for a 3 day stay in Barcelona. The hotel was well located for access to the city centre via metro Europa Fira. The rooms were large with nice/clean facilities. Staff were all friendly and a bag storage service was available at check in/out.

The location is brilliant and is only a short ride from the airport and very close to the Metro station Fira. There is easy access both to the metro and the bus. There is a shopping mall with number of eateries and the cinema within walking distance. The room is average. The main thing if you are staying with family ...there is no door for the bathroom and you have to isolate the entrance from the room to get privacy there. The toilet area though luckily has a door. It is difficult when you have booked as a family with grown up kids. The connections and the TV are ancient and there are no USB connections. The channels available are all in Catalan/Spanish...the TV doesnt even have a HDMI or ability to connect to your phone...so pretty much useless unless you speak Spanish....not something you are expecting of a Hotel that caters to tourists and to conferences! The reception was very helpful and the lifts etc work. The restaurant staff are also very nice and helpful. The breakfast is buffet and was wonderful.

This hotel overall was just about a pass, the bed and the pillows were comfy and room spacious however the condition left a lot to be desired. This hotel overall was just about a pass, the bed and the pillows were comfy and room spacious however the condition left a lot to be desired. We went for my birthday and was upgraded to the ‘executive floor’ however is this is the condition of the rooms on the executive floor I would hate to be in the normal rooms. The walls had dirty black marks all over them the tea tray which we did not use by the way absolutely filthy the plug sockets could be removed from the walls with no real fixing and was a major hazard. We were staining in this hotel as a tour group for a couple nights. The hotel is pretty new and clean. A food selection for breakfast is good, but short on amount of food because it despairing very quickly. And is taking a while for staff to replace food. But, my main concern is safety. I don’t know how this hotel passed safety inspections. It is very very high risk for falls. Because bathtub is high and hard to get in, especially if you’re over 50 or physically impaired. I believe that “modern” design that why washing station is moved to slipping area and toilet has clear door to cover privacy. No program on TV for English speakers. Our stay there wasn’t pleasant.
