“Great Hotel which is ruined by having signature level”

Could be a great hotel, but by having signature level (black band) you made to feel less important, not a nice feeling for an expensive Hotel

“Cold food and overall disappointing stay”

Positives The hotel was clean inside and out. The pool areas are lovely, lots of sun beds, tables and umbrellas, however, if you want to get a sun bed in the afternoon these are likely to all be taken. The bed was comfortable and the toiletries are by L’Occitane which smell really nice. The mini bar was well stocked on arrival (but we think only replenished once, as we only started to use it mid holiday) The bar staff were all really friendly The rooftop bar is really nice, we enjoyed viewing a sunset from there one evening. We did not swim in the pool but it looks nice. It is open 1pm until 9.30pm, which seems an early time to close. Negatives The food in the buffet restaurant was nicely presented, not consistently labelled so unclear what it is but always cold and not always to my taste. One evening I did not like anything on the buffet so we visited a restaurant offsite for our meal. We ate out for 3 evening meals and I would not expect to do this at a hotel of this calibre. The food at the pool bar was nice but cooked at the main hotel so always cold when it arrived. I was surprised there were no cooking facilities at the pool bar site. The food delivered to the pool bar is left outside on trays until taken to a table, I observed a bird pecking at a hot dog until shoo’d away and then the meal was taken to the table but the lady was not there. The meal was left and the bird came back to peck at it until it was taken away again (I did not see if the returned / was given this food) No welcome drink on arrival and we were not shown to our room (both we have experienced at other hotels, including hotels with a lower star rating) You have to use an app to look up food and drink menus, there are no paper menus which is a shame as we didn’t want to use our phones on holiday You have to have cards to be able to obtain pool towels only we weren’t told about this on arrival by reception. You get cards back when you hand your towels back, unless they have run out of cards and then you have to go to reception to ask for them! And we weren’t consistently asked for our cards when getting a towel. Our room was not cleaned every day, which is unusual but fine unless we needed more toilet paper or toiletries, etc. Our room had an inland view and we heard loud music from the hotel next door most nights. The balcony areas are not private and you can see other guests on their balcony. There was no ice cream in the buffet restaurant until the last day and the ‘gelato’ tasted awful, maybe it was more of a sour frozen yogurt than ice cream The pool bars do not open until 11am but you can get a drink from the bar in reception or take a can from the fridge in your room The waiters service seems more geared up for the ‘Signature’ guests, no one ever asked me when I was on my sunbed if I wanted a drink I either had to get their attention and ask them or go up to the bar myself. I didn’t mind doing this (it was usually quickly going to the bar) but definitely felt the Signature guests get preferential treatment. The reception staff are not very welcoming or friendly. After a long day of travelling and arriving after 9pm we did not feel welcomed on arrival. I emailed the hotel twice before our stay regarding a late check out room and never received a reply which was disappointing and an indication of poor customer service. We found out at the hotel that we could only request a late check out room on the day as they did not know hotel capacity prior to that. Overall the TRS Ibiza is a nice hotel but the hot food is always cold and too many observations (see above) during our stay would not make us want to stay there again.

The Capricho restaurant whilst ok for breakfast the dinner buffet is of decidedly average quality and rather unappealing. The Helios restaurant has an inviting terrace and again food of average quality . El Gaucho steakhouse looked the best bet of the trio however on arrival without a booking could not gain entry even though there were indeed empty tables ! As a hotel guest this is just not acceptable. On the positive side the bars on the top floor by the infinity pool and the one in the lobby were really very good a special mention to Simone, a very fine mixologist.

This is the third time I have been to this hotel. I first went in 2022, then in 2023 and now in May 2024. The hotel itself is beautiful but it has really gone downhill since I last visited. The staff and service are nowhere near as helpful, accommodating and friendly as they used to be - there is also clearly not enough of them. We found the reception staff at check in to be quite rude which was disappointing given we had just arrived. The food quality and variety in the buffet restaurant also no longer has the wow factor that it previously did. Don’t get me wrong, we had some nice meals but they seemed to repeat very similar dishes each day and it lacked the variety that it used to have. I also noticed that instead of serving each drink (esp cocktails) in a different glass, with a nice garnish (like they used to do), all drinks were instead being served in the same plastic tumblers. Again, no huge issue but further reduces the quality feel that it used to have. Overall, my third experience of this hotel was by far the least impressive and I hope that the hotel management put steps in place to improve things as it would be a shame for this hotel to continue to go downhill. I’m not sure I’ll rush back again.
