We are from the UK Before our visit we read reviews and were a bit nervous of visiting this hotel but boy were we wrong to think that, On arrival we were made very welcome the staff from all of reception to bar staff & room addentants are amazing everyone was more than helpful from helping us with directions and taxi's and even storing luggage until our room was ready the bar staff explained about ordering food to eat in or take away as it's so different to the UK they even had microwave for warming your own food if needed, the bedrooms we had before our cruise(2days ) and after our cruise ( 4days) were really comfy and everything you need ie. safe hairdryers iron & ironing board & fridge and very large tv. the bathrooms are good with large shower & toiletries provided are of good quality, the hotel is literally 5 minutes walk from times square and is very central for getting around we would definitely stay here again thankyou to all concerned

Hotel was lovely. Clean, efficient, in a very convenient area that felt safe. Rooms were a decent size given its NYC. What made my experience was the staff. Five stars all the way. My only regret was not getting everyone’s names. Genesis checked me in and was lovely, welcoming, and eager to help. The young lady working breakfast on Jan 24 was so friendly and engaging. And then this, this is truly amazing!! The gentleman, bellman, working on Jan 24 late afternoon who retrieved my stored luggage. We chatted a bit before I headed out to catch my train. I’m walking to the train station. I’m well on my way and I hear someone calling Miss! Miss! from behind me. Here is the young man, he ran 2 plus blocks with my cell phone that I’d left on the lobby table. The true definition of hospitality! The most exceptional way to end my trip to New York. He has my sincere gratitude and deserves all possible forms of recognition from hotel management. He clearly takes care of the guest above all else. Priceless!

I have to say after reading some reviews I was slightly concerned about arriving at this hotel, however we had no issues at all. Yes the area can have some local characters, however we felt safe all the time walking around and there were the same people all over New York. The port authority is opposite the hotel but the actual entrance is round the corner. Yes the street is noisy but so are the other surrounding 10 streets and 3 avenues, a price you pay when you are close to Times Square, especially during Christmas. Yes you can hear traffic from your room (we were floor 18), however we also visited The Edge and could hear traffic when we were 100 floors up, you can't visit a central city location and have an issue with traffic noise. The staff were lovely, we had no issues with the food at breakfast (normally the New York bagel) always served warm and fresh. The lifts worked with no issues. Rooms were clean, beds made fresh every day, towels replaced every 2 days. All in all a good, clean comfortable hotel with friendly staff in a central location.

“Good value but DO NOT TAKE ANY TRANSPORTATION THAT HOTEL SETS UP”

Rooms were clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. This is in a sketchy part of town and I would not stay here again no matter the cost. The front desk offered a limo ride to LGA when my husband had to leave before the rest of the family. Price was quoted for $65 and was indeed what he paid plus a tip. Hours later same day when they offered the rest of the family a ride to LGA was quoted $65 and I asked at least twice no added fees? Once we arrived at LGA, driver said $10 for tolls ( REALLY ?) and suddenly it was $85 !! Don't know what the other 10 dollars was for. So I recommend NOT GOING WITH ANY TRANSPORTATION THEY OFFER TO SET UP FOR YOU. Make it easy on yourself. UBER everywhere you go and you know the exact price and there are NO SURPRISES. Cabs in NY add fees so watch out. BEWARE. In fact, they set up a cab another time and got the address wrong where we were going and we told the driver again the address and he went the wrong way and we had to pay for it. Do not trust them. Get an UBER.
