We really enjoyed our stay at the cordial hotel.The staff were so friendly, nice and helpful it was a pleasure to interact with them.It's a fine hotel with impressive grounds .We went to the beach most days which is a lovely little cove about five to ten mins walk from the hotel.It's a small beach not one for a long walk.In my opinion the real gem is the food and hospitality. We picked half board and were not disappointed ,the breakfast was the best I have ever encountered and the evening buffet (hot and cold )was excellent also.You would want to be extremely fussy if you're not satisfied with what's on offer.Yes the rooms are a little dated but clean also.The hotel seems to cater for very well the older generation we noticed a lot of repeat customers which was lovely to see .Just two small things ,the tea cups in the dining room are very small ,mugs would be better.The towels in the rooms are clean but a little dated.Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again ,thank you Cordial &staff

This hotel ideally situated for Puerto Mogan and surrounding areas. The reception staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The main reception area and pool areas are kept immaculately clean. The grounds are stunning and very well maintained. Unfortunately the areas beyond the main reception less so. The room wasn't particularly clean and I had to request that the floor be cleaned properly. The beds were not made properly each day, the sheets were very worn and stained as were the towels. The rooms are a bit dated and whilst we don't go on holiday to watch the TV all day, 3 channels in English ( two of which are news) is a bit poor. Tea, coffee and milk were not replenished on a daily basis nor were dishes and cutlery removed or even cleaned. With this in mind, we decided to go along to the "afternoon tea" being offered in the library. Sadly, that is up a flight of stairs with no lift available. The shower above the bath with a shower curtain round the bath is a bit dated and also the shower fluctuates between hot and cold. They have installed some grab rails to try to help with getting in and out of bath. I did ask about a disabled room but there is only one throughout the whole hotel and that was already booked out. The entertainment was good each evening however only on for 45 minutes then the lounge was closed and we had to go upstairs to the main lounge area. The staff worked extremely hard in that time to ensure everyone had a drink and all were very pleasant. I hired a mobility scooter to help me get out and about. Out with the hotel everything was great however might I suggest that someone actually try getting around the grounds using a mobility scooter and also try to get in and out of any of the doors on their own. Even with my friend with me we struggled. Some of the ramps are so steep the scooter gets stuck and has to be lifted off to carry on. The restaurant was extremely busy for both sittings with queues out the door as soon as the doors opened. Queues at each food station and seldom any labels to tell you what you were queuing for. The food was never hot unless it had just been cooked in front of you. Could the menu not be made available on the TV screens in your rooms prior to dinner? The idea of two sittings doesn't seem to work for the guests and neither does allocated seating. We came down twice to find someone else in our allocated seats. We found that going out for dinner was a more pleasant experience and the food was hot and presented to you at your table. There was no-one interrupting you to sign for something or someone taking your plate away before you'd both finished. All of the above said, we did have a lovely holiday and we would love to come back to Mogan. This hotel has obviously been and can again be so much better than it currently presents itself. Come on Cordial please do something to put this right.

Overall mixed feelings. Initially, we had great anticipation over our stay at the Mogan Playa, as we'd briefly seen the hotel on a previous trip to the Taurito Princess (much superior in many ways) and thought it looked superb. Well, that isn't in doubt. The hotel is amazing in many respects, although the room we had was somewhat dated. Our main gripe was regarding the two sitting dinner arrangements, which we were not informed of. You had the choice of either 6.30pm to 8.00pm or 8.30pm to 10.30pm, and once chosen, there was no changing. The main problem with this ruling was the resultant queues at the hot food counters - to the extent that one couldn't get close enough to even read what the dishes were! The meat and fish being unlabeled anyway! Suffice to say it was usually chaotic, with lines of guests scrambling to secure their main dish asap. Because if you didn't, you wouldn't have time to finish your meal before the 8pm curfew! The hot food was good, if you managed to get some, but often we gave up the school dinner routine and settled for cold salads. This compromise, combined with having to rush your meal, the sometimes missing cutlery, illusive salt pots that never actually dispensed salt, and then being subtly hurried along by waiters and waitresses clearing adjacent tables, did not add up to an enjoyable or relaxing experience. Breakfast, on the other hand, was fine. No time restrictions, no queues, great choices, and very pleasant. In the circumstances, I think it would make common sense for the hotel to emulate the breakfast routine at dinner time, to avoid any future negative reviews! There were some other irritations like having to find out basic information yourself, rather than have this to hand within the guest rooms, missing hand towels one day and no bath towels the following day, which isn't what you need when you return to your room after a sticky day at the beach! The hotel itself is quite stunning in presentation, and the staff are great, but the oppulence was overshadowed by the impersonal touch. Perhaps if management could put themselves in their guest's shoes, they might be surprised!
