We were worried about staying here in view of an extremely negative review from a previous customer. We were pleasantly surprised to find a comfortable Hotel with excellent customer service (minor room issue rectified within an hour). The Hotel provides good secure parking at an additional cost. It is near the centre of Queenstown albeit a walk downhill. It was clean and the room was spacious. There was also a customer laundry.

“Great Apartment with sensational veiws and a easy walk into town”

Fantastic location, just a short walk into the center of Queenstown. We had a large 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with sensational views of the lake, great for our family with 2 teenagers.. It was great having parking for our rental car, along with a small kitchen. It us on the main road but didnt hear traffic noise, we did find the apartment creaky and could hear the neighbors walking around , but it wasn't intrusive. We would recommend staying here and would rebook if we returned to Queenstown.

The Copthorne has obviously seen better days. The Copthorne has obviously seen better days. While the location is good and the views are lovely, only if you make sure to book a room in the top floors, the fabric is in need of repair and renovation. The outer walls are no longer as white as they must have once been, and there are signs of mould everywhere. The carpet in reception and along the hall is old and worn and, judging by the accumulation of small bits of rubbish, did not receive a single clean during our 4-night stay. One corner of the cornice in our room was hanging down. The bathroom was functional but needs an update. The main restaurant offered only a very ordinary buffet breakfast supervised by a skeleton staff, and it was not open at all for dinner. The downstairs bar offered a small menu but took a long time to produce anything ordered. In spite of the hotel claiming to be fully booked, the bar never had more than a couple of customers whenever we went in. The only saving grace of the place was the staff who were invariably cheerful, pleasant and helpful, but it was obvious that there just weren't enough of them.

Went with a Road Scholar group. A weird set up-if your room was on the left hand side of the property you had to drag your suitcase up several stairs to get to the elevator. Went with a Road Scholar group. A weird set up-if your room was on the left hand side of the property you had to drag your suitcase up several stairs to get to the elevator. The other option was to go to the ride hand side of the property where there was a ramp, take the elevator to floor 4 to cross over to the other side to take the elevator down to your floor. Really???? The room was dated and the breakfast was meh at best.

“Good enough but nothing to brag about”

Great location with clean room. We found the atmosphere Ok but it had a feeling of being old. It had a 70's feeling.
