Great service from the staff at this hotel. Especially Maya one of the manager’s at the front desk was absolutely great and very helpful. For a person that usually stays at a particular brand of hotels, due to the close proximity to the town centre I chose to stay at the City Hotel and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the politeness and helpful staff, the breakfast, closeness to all the attractions all made my stay in this hotel a very pleasant experience. Maya in particular was wonderful, in addition to helping to contact one of the tour leaders who had delayed to turn up and overall her attention to detail, care and service during my stay deserves 5 stars and made my first visit to Ljubljana pleasant from the hotel stay perspective.

“Nice little Retreat”

I had an overnight stay at this hotel - nothing had been pre-booked. Very smooth check-in by a delightful young lady. This hotel oozed opulence, and I was very surprised at the modest cost. I had an overnight stay at this hotel - nothing had been pre-booked. Very smooth check-in by a delightful young lady. This hotel oozed opulence, and I was very surprised at the modest cost. Lovely little room - yes it was small - but sufficient for a single tenant who just wanted it as a base. (larger rooms are available of course!) Very clean room and very quiet. The Shower was not used - but appeared immaculate. The bed was fit for a King, with sheets and pillows which were crisp and spotless. The room also had a kettle, fridge and safe. Breakfast for me was just orange juice and coffee, and judging by the number of people in the breakfast area, this is one popular place to be. I had a wonderful stay at the City Hotel Ljubljana, thank you for taking me in at very short notice.

City Hotel Ljubljana delivers a good experience for travellers seeking comfort and convenience in Slovenia's capital. Few Points: 1.The hotel's breakfast is a highlight, featuring a variety of delicious options to fuel your day of exploration. 2. Situated in a prime location, City Hotel Ljubljana provides easy access to Ljubljana's attractions. Old Town is just 5 mins walk from the Hotel. 3. Cordial front desk staff, warm as should one expect. 4.While the rooms may be slightly smaller in size, they are thoughtfully designed and perfectly adequate for a comfortable stay. Despite the cozy dimensions, the rooms are well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. And Noise free. Overall, City Hotel Ljubljana offers a solid choice for travellers looking for a centrally located, 10 mins max walk to main Train/Bus Station (which are adjacent to each other).

Overall, an excellent stay in a hidden gem of a City/Country. This is a good hotel, where I stayed for 3 nights in March 2024 with a friend. The entrance has an excellent welcoming feel, with a map on the wall. There are several persons staffing reception, who are all very friendly and willing to help. A bar right next to reception offers desserts and basic food options as well as drinks. There is often sport on 2 screens here but has a quiet and calm feel to it. The rooms are good and either sit on outside or inside, with outside views or views of an inner structural column in the centre of the hotel. The rooms are good, with great shower. As someone who is tall this is often a hotel qualm, but a high shower with plenty of room on this occasion, with full mirror above sink. The beds are very comfortable. The windows which can open to desired need. This brings me to the only main qualm of this hotel; the temperature is controlled hotel wide, by a central system, so in the winter the heating is on and in the summer its air conditioned. Visiting in March, we were between seasons and full heating was not really appropriate. You can switch it off for your room, however to make this 5 star, there needs to be temperature control in each room. Only other thing to be aware of is that there are 'adult' TV channels in the latter TV channel options, with no warning. Something to be aware of if you have kids. The breakfast is excellent. A fantasic buffet with a wide variety of options to suit all pallets. Cooked and continental options with lots of sweet treats and good coffee options. There is no pool, however this was not an issue for me, but know this would put some off. Staff are all very kind and helpful, always willing to help and assist. In terms of location, you are about a 5 minute walk from centre of town, also 5 minute walk to the river. The hotel is mainly quiet, however there is a main, well trafficed street outside. An excellent hotel, ideal for a short visit for business or pleasure.
