“Great hotel in kaohsiung”

The staff are professional and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located just a few blocks walking distance from the subway ~7 minutes. It’s clean and modern. Rooms are clean, and they have a laundry room which is convenient for wash. Breakfast has dim sum and other varieties.

Fairly standard, reasonably modern hotel but good quality and service. We stayed in a deluxe king room and very spacious with walk in shower and a bath and a comfortable bed. On check in our shower head wasnt working and someone was up to sort it out within a minute or two of making a call. Breakfast was extensive, although mainly chinese food (to be expected - there were only a couple of other westeners and its a sizeable hotel). There is a lounge upstairs where in the evening you can get free, coffee, soft drinks, beer and snacks, which was a bonus. There is also a free communal laundry facility. Small gym, although shame not equipped with any weights. Decent location with MRT station less than 5 mins walk and around 15 to Pier 2 area.

Not many reviews talk about how good the breakfast is here. It’s Hong Kong–style, so don’t expect an egg station or lots of bread. You get hot, steaming dim sum, which is normal for a Chinese restaurant, but having it for breakfast really sets the tone. There’s also congee, roast duck, mochi with sesame filling, hot soy milk, and more. Lots of staff clear tables quickly, keeping it clean. The restaurant turns into a Cantonese restaurant for lunch and dinner, so the breakfast makes sense. Really a refreshing change from usual Western breakfasts. The room is big, and the bathroom is spacious, far from cramped. I asked for a room far from the elevator, and they gave me one at the end of the hallway, which was very quiet. The hotel is only 200 meters from the MRT station. The station doesn’t have places to buy food, but there are lots of restaurants nearby if you don’t mind a short walk. Downside is very few amenities — just soap and shampoo. My wife asked for a shower cap, it was 10 TWD. No toothpaste, toothbrush, or anything else, so bring your own. Overall, it’s comfortable, great breakfast, quiet rooms, and a convenient location.

My wife and I stayed here for the better part of a week because we had a conference at National Sun Yat Sen University. We had a very pleasant time here, and heartily recommend this hotel. The location is excellent: in the center of town, near a metro station, and also just a short walk from the river. The hotel is modern and comfortable, and our room was reasonably large, at least by Asian standards. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Our room came with breakfast, which I thought was excellent. There were a great many hot and cold items. Most were repeated from day to day, but about half a dozen hot dishes were changed daily. Some were Asian, others not, and some were very unusual. (Lasagna for breakfast is not a common item, but the morning it was served, I had some, and liked it a lot. There was also one morning where they served sweet and sour pork, which I thought was excellent.) I was delighted to see roast pork and roast duck available for breakfast every day, and they were very good, but for some reason they are served cold. There was also dim sum available every day, and once I figured out which ones were pork rather than shrimp (English signs would have been useful), I made a point of getting them every day; they were scrumptious. My one criticism of the breakfast buffet was a lack of good cold beverages; there was no coke, for example, or even orange juice. But I made do with the "mixed fruit" juice, which changed from day to day. Overall, I thought the breakfast was outstanding, and looked forward to checking it out every morning. Our room key allowed access to the VIP Lounge (I don't know if this is true for all rooms or just ours). This was a pleasant place to visit, particularly since there was a coke machine there. Highly recommended.
