“A great place to stay”

The hotel was centralized and close to the venue we were going to. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. Checkin and checkout was easy. Cambridge Suites has the most spacious breakfast areas,( there was more then one area to sit) as some are cramped. The eggs were well cooked and fruit salad was fresh. The only negative was there was not entrance to the building where the parking area was located.

I stayed here with a couple of my friends; the stay was amazing, loved the rooms and the room service. The breakfast served here was delicious considering the price we paid. The staff was very friendly, Jithin was great! Will come back if possible!

“Lovely hotel and staff but material inability to adequately curtail noisy guests in the middle of the night”

We booked a double suite. The first room they gave us was at the end of the hall on the 6th floor. The room smelled horribly like rotten feet. There was an air freshener hanging from the sprinkler pipe, which made is think the stink was a long-term room issue. I went to the front desk, and our room was politely and promptly changed to a room without such a sickening odor. The suite was spacious and clean with nice water views (when the fog cleared), adequate furnishings and complimentary water. The included breakfast buffet was ample but unexceptional. There is a nightly happy hour with good prices on draft beer and house wine. The hotel is conveniently located downtown and a very short walk from the noise of Halifax's nightlife. The staff was uniformly exceptionally polite and nice - perhaps to a fault. Our last night there, a Saturday night, the 6th floor seemed to be overrun by loud, drunk people from 9PM on. Because we were in a suite, we had a second door separating the beds from the hallway. Despite both doors being closed, loud noise persisted from the partying. On 3 occasions after 10:30PM, we called and requested a stop to the loud noise. Staff was extremely polite and apologetic and assured me that the noise would stop. It did - for a short time. I called again twice with the same results - short term cessation followed by resumed noise. At this point, I stopped calling because it was apparent that the staff was unwilling or unable to take action to stop the noise for the night. Our sleep was impossible until things quited around 2AM only to be woken by revelers at 3AM. One hour's sleep on our departure day was really disappointing. At checkout, I shared my experience and expressed my disappointment. The front desk staff was aware of the incidents and extremely apologetic and indicated the issue would be taken up with management. We found the hotel and staff lovely, but the inability to satisfactorily addresses excessive noise was unacceptable to us. This experience our last night unfortunately overshadowed our otherwise lovely 4+ day experience at the Cambridge Suites. Unless the hotel management is able to address sound permeating from one room into all nearby rooms on the hallway (a likely prohibitively expensive proposition) or ensure that verifiable excessive noise at late hours is addressed with finality, we couldn't recommend staying at the Cambridge Suites on a weekend, when such excessive noise late at night is most likely to occur.

“Not the greatest place !”

It’s an older dated hotel . Not much renovations done to the suites . The parking garage cost 25.00 and it is very congested…hard not to get your door dinged ..not much room considering you at a hotel and need to get suitcase and bags out of your car …your door needs to be open ! It’s an older dated hotel . Not much renovations done to the suites . The parking garage cost 25.00 and it is very congested…hard not to get your door dinged ..not much room considering you at a hotel and need to get suitcase and bags out of your car …your door needs to be open ! Also upon arrival there were 3 bottles of wine in my room for purchase @ 40 a bottle …What hotel do that anymore ! I think this a big money grab and not a service. I paid extra for extra people staying with be bc the price quoted was only for 2 …But upon arrival the room was only set up for 2! Had to request extra blankets , towels and soaps . The hotel is nicely situated to the city and lots nearby. Don’t think I will be staying again…mainly bc when I voiced my concerns nothing was said or done.
