Where to start. Positives; Great location. Fabulous sea views everywhere. Good access to local beach and decent (ish) restaurants. Excellent supermarket across the road. Bus stop directly opposite hotel and brings you straight into Benalmadena and surrounds. Negatives; The hotel in general. Staff unfriendly and seem stressed. Breakfast was abysmal. Greasy cooked food bar the ready made pancakes and omelette. No choice of fresh fruit bar melon and apples and oranges. Pastries stale. Room was cleaned daily but stupid ommission like fresh towels and toilet paper. The glasses werent replaced just barely washed or wiped. The snack bar at the pool is a joke. Just a hotdog or burger on offer - that's it! Microwaved at best. Tables filthy. A no frills hotel that's charging exorbitant prices to stay. Definitely won't stay here again. But will check out the hotel up the road because according to the reviews it doesn't have an issue with a D&V problem and the only reason why I didn't pick it up is because I was travelling solo. There is not enough being done in the hotel to tackle the cleanliness problem. Shame as it's location should be a major plus.

I had been reading the reviews about D&V before we left so as you can imagine I was very nervous. But we were all perfectly fine, no sign of illness from anyone in the group. We were a family of 4 , 2 adults and 2 children (15 & 4). We found the hotel to be clean, maid service every day. Public areas were well kept and the pool and bar area looked clean. Wide choice of drinks on the all inclusive, all cocktails, baileys and named spirits were included, you even get table service. Staff were friendly and helpful, when we asked for more towels they were with us within 30 minutes. Food in the restaurant was of good quality, just not a huge amount of choice if you aren't a big meat eater and it was on the cold side. We ended up eating out 3 times just to get some variety. Location is good, but be aware there is no sandy beach close to the hotel, its a shingle beach which isn't great for kids. There is a supermarket literally across the road which sells everything you could need and is very well priced. Now to the one negative which is enough to stop us returning.....the air conditioning is dreadful. Barely even makes a difference to the temperature, at night it was unbearable, we couldn't leave the balcony door open due to having a 4 year old. When we spoke to reception about the air con they were aware of issues and also explained to us air con is only available between 5pm -9am, so if you are in your room in the day prepare to be hot. This was the only negative for us, but good air con is very important to us so we will be returning to the area but unfortunately not this hotel.

“Average at Best”

I would say more Average than Best. Negatives... Rooms are very dated and could do with modernising. 4 people in our room but only 2 chairs and 1 tiny table on the balcony. Disappointing. Also only 2 bottles of water in the fridge on arrival. We requested more and was given the following day but after that nothing. If you wanted water you had to pay for it. We were AI so found this a bit odd. Food was horrific. We went for breakfast the first morning we were there and it was awful. Ate out from that moment on and so glad we did as the amount of reviews on here regarding people with food poisoning is frightening. Cocktails were ok but definitely not the best. Positives... Pool bar staff were lovely along with the staff at reception. Beautiful view from the room. No sun bed wars in the mornings. Will not be returning.
