“A Pleasant Stay”
It's been a long while since I was in Beijing. And so I was expecting changes. Well, this hotel is one of those built by the Soviets complete with a very socialistic name. The hotel has been completely updated. I had a largish room that might qualify as a suite in most other hotels if there was... more

“Dated, quaint hotel from the communist time”
The hotel is well situated for public transport. The staff were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was pretty bland. Some of the poorest "Chinese" food that I have eaten. The bar "Fridays" is good for beer and bar food. The rooms were clean but a bit run-down.

This was the only problem with the... more

This after all was an hotel built jointly by Russia and China. Today it is a rather dated hotel, but still it is worthwhile staying there,... more

“Old grand hotel. Beautiful outside, not so much inside (sometimes)”
Huge old hotel in Beijing. I have to admit it looks quite nice from the outside, in the Forbiden City style, and some of the facilities and rooms have been renovated, that is not the case for all of them. I stayed in the Grand building (which is supposed to be the best out of the 8 buildings) and... more
