“Wow what an experience”

My best friend and I have just come back from a 5 night stay here and what I’d say is WOW. Almost every part of the hotel experience was outstanding. The rooms, pools, restaurant and overall hotel was very clean. The rooms were a great size and the beds very comfortable. We had a big balcony which we loved with sea view facing the mountains- it was beautiful to wake up to every morning! The food in the buffet was very good with different cuisines- the Italian was our favourite! The entertainment was mostly very good, with musicians during the day and tribute acts/acrobatics at night. The entertainment staff were exceptional. Jay was excellent with such good energy! All of the staff worked hard to ensure we had a great stay. In particular the pool bar staff served us well. I’d recommend going all inclusive if you can. There isn’t a lot going on around the hotel. But if you want a quiet, beautiful experience this is the one for you! Thank you so much Barcelo Santiago- you were amazing and I would absolutely come back!!

“Relaxing Wedding Anniversary Holiday”

My wife and I stayed here for a week All Inclusive for our 2 year wedding anniversary and we had a most pleasant stay As many have already stated, the views are simply breathtaking and watching the sunset over a drink either on your balcony or at the pool bar is a must We stayed on the 4th floor and had a deluxe sea view room. The room itself was fine but was very clean and tidy with a huge and very comfortable bed but the selling point for us was the view itself which was just amazing. As it was our anniversary the hotel placed a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket in our mini fridge and also gifted us with some chocolates and a well wishing card which was a kind gesture The food in the buffet restaurant was of a good quality however at breakfast and dinner it was extremely busy with long queues for coffee, orange juice or the egg station. We did however always manage to get a table outside to eat which was a bonus. Lunch is quieter in the buffet restaurant. We also on occasion had food at the Breeze pool bar and that too was very tasty Drinks are of good quality in the pool bar and there are also premium spirits within the All Inclusive which I was very pleased about as I like my gins! Unfortunately, though the Theatre Bar was closed throughout our stay due to renovations so the evening entertainment was always around the pool which was fine as there were plenty of tables and chairs available and waiter service for drinks. Not sure why the Aloe Bar near reception was closed throughout our stay however. Only complaint really was at times it took quite a while to get served at the pool bar despite several staff being on hand which was a little frustrating at times We enjoyed interacting with the Animation Team. Big shout out to Jay and Viktoria! We played shuffleboard, darts and other games throughout our stay. My wife also took part in the aqua aerobics. The team work tirelessly day and night to put smiles on peoples faces and are not pushy to make you join in if you don't want to Huge thanks as well to Shari in the travel office who helped us book tours for whale/dolphin watching and also star gazing. Both are highly recommended! Shari also gave us good advice on getting out and about via bus and taxi and gave us nice recommendations for neighbouring towns to visit for a change of scenery. On our last day we took a Balinese bed which was 40 Euros for the whole day but came with a bottle of champagne! There is also waiter service for food and drinks on the bed which was bonus. Very comfortable beds with an amazing view of the rocks Only real complaint was on check in the staff on the front desk were very insistent about wanting to see a confirmation email of our stay despite having provided our passports. This was a first for us as we've never before been asked to provide proof other than giving our surname or passport. This meant trying to connect to the internet and trawl through emails on our phones when we were tired and just wanted to head to our room. Eventually though this was resolved. Other occasions though the front desk staff were very helpful and gave us a nice recommendation for a local restaurant to go eat for dinner for our actual wedding anniversary and the restaurant did not disappoint. Sadly though on our last day we were unable to keep our room on for an extra couple of hours and as we didn't want to shower in the spa (which apparently you have to book on the day of checkout) we showered and checked out of our room at 12pm and just had lunch and drinks at the pool bar until it was time to leave for the airport. You also cannot book the room to keep on ahead of your departure - you need to check with front desk first thing in the morning of your departure which makes packing a challenge not knowing if you still have your room until later These small issues aside we had a great holiday and we would recommend as a place of peace and quiet with stunning views and great tours

“Our favorite hotel is now too noisy”

Barcelo Santiago, Tenerife. Our favorite Tenerife hotel that we have stayed at several times. The staff and food etc. are really good and our Junior Suite was great. Sadly the new "Adults Only" change has its benefits and downfalls. Now, not being a family hotel, the noise has become an issue for this wonderfully sited property. Most of the sea view rooms overlook the games and pools areas where there are noisy activities during the day and late evening. It seems to me that the main problem is by the abuse of the loudspeaker system, that echoes off of the walls and is really unpleasant. There is a particular "entertainer" that has a very loud voice and screams and shouts into a microphone presumably to excite the holidaymakers. (Reminds me of a boot camp crossed with Butlins). I respect that she has a job to do but she really does not need a microphone. There was often other announcements that were so loud and distorted that you could not actually hear what was being said. Similarly with the music which was spoiled by being over amplified and the overemphasis on bass that actually gave me a headache so that I had to go inside from our terrace and close the doors. Even then the bass could be heard. It is such a shame that the overuse of the amplifiers distorted and ruined some really good acts / music. Bear in mind that our rooms were at the side of the main building. Goodness knows how those nearer put up with it is beyond me! Please, please, turn it down so that we can consider returning again.
