This was our second stay in 2024. On our previous visit we reviewed that the hotel management had a great opportunity to raise standards in a number of areas. We were delighted to see that this has been achieved and our rating this time reflects the great work by everyone. In particular Sara (Guest Relationship Manager) should be praised for her incredibly professional approach and warm, and courteous, personality. She has obviously worked with many other members of the hotel team to raise the guest experience significantly. This time we were impressed! Well done to all concerned and massive thanks to the reception team for their guest-centric approach.

I will start by saying, we all had a great long weekend at this hotel. Like others have said the Sky Bar is its USP and absolutely fantastic. We travelled with another couple and for ease went all inclusive. Drinks wise, amazing - no pre made cocktails or watered down spirits, instead cocktails were made to order and the AI wines were actually excellent. Staff, on the whole absolutely lovely and very friendly. Rooms, we’ve stayed in Barcelo hotels before so the sink/bathroom layout was not a surprise and if I’m honest I like the sink as it is. Being double sided I can apply my make up while hubby shaves or whatever! Works for us anyway. Where I think the hotel struggles is food. Breakfast was good, omelettes to order etc. Lunch okay, usually went for something freshly cooked on the griddle/plancha, dinner I’m sorry to say woeful. Restaurant was pretty empty most evenings and it seemed to be a rehash of lunch served in different ways. So, would I stay again? Yes absolutely. Es Castell is a lovely little spot. Would I book all inclusive again. Probably as the drinks were definitely worth it. If you’re not a drinker I would suggest B&B only. All in all a lovely 4 night stay and we did enjoy.

“Lovely hotel , friendly staff!”

Lovely hotel with amazing sea views. We stayed for 12 days - we hired a car for 5 of those to explore the island. Highlights were Monte Torre, Cuitadella and Cala Galdana. Lovely hotel with amazing sea views. We stayed for 12 days - we hired a car for 5 of those to explore the island. Highlights were Monte Torre, Cuitadella and Cala Galdana. I also went to the church in Mahon for the daily organ recital which was phenomenal. There is also the bus into Mahon which was excellent and we used that a lot . It costs £1.75 and visitors have to pay cash. The hotel”s staff are really excellent - nothing is too much trouble and everything we needed to ask was answered and dealt with effectively. Breakfast was busy as you would expect and is entirely” help yourself” but the staff were helpful and cleared away plates quickly and efficiently , Yes there are flies milling about but having eaten outside for 12 days that’s just how it is . They didn’t cause us any drama! We just ignored them. Rooms are a bit odd until you get used to them but the beds were huge and super comfy. Air con worked well . Maid came every day to clean and change pillow cases /sheets /towels etc. We stayed in rooms 423/424 and our maid was fabulous. Loved coming back to a clean room. Fresh water , tea , milk delivered daily in the evening too, Check in was fast and efficient with a glass of cava upon arrival, our flight home was 9pm but we were able to leave luggage and get changed /have a shower after checking out. The area around Cala Fonts is lovely and we ate out there most nights. Es Castell is very friendly with a supermarket and we even went to the Anglican Church on the Sunday ! All in all I would recommend the hotel especially a sea view room. Bed and breakfast was our preference and definitely the right choice for us - the atmosphere in the communal areas was a bit too quite for us we preferred the vibrancy of the local area. Sky bar being the exception as when the sun is out iit is stunning up there!

“Great staff, rooms a little small”

The Hamilton is a great business hotel, ideally situated for Calles Fontes. The changing/bathroom design could be better. The staff are great. Gym is excellent.
