The facilities were clean and tidy. The rooms were cleaned everyday, the outside pools were cleaned regularly and the floors were kept shiny. Staff were very helpful and kind, and most spoke Spanish, English, some German and some Italian and possibly more. The entertainment was very good, but it was regularly acrobatics every night. It would be interesting to see some new things like more singing, dancing, acting , comedy etc. The food was amazing, with many different restaurants and lots of food choices. We had all inclusive, so we were allowed into the snack bar where there were an array of food choices, drinks and salads. Other from this incredible hotel, there was only one rude staff member who was very bossy and shouty to some people asking about if there was any more food. Otherwise everyone was brilliant - we especially liked Gonzalo and the aqua fit instructor. Also for anyone who is staying here: during the day when the people clean your room, you can write a note asking for water and they will restock your mini fridge. Above all, I was very pleased with my stay and I’m very glad I came. The island was lovely and the weather was great.

This was our first family holiday so we were very nervous and wanted everything to go as planned. We booked the family room with 2 separate bedrooms and a sitting room. The room was very clean and I would highly recommend this to any families with small babies for extra comfort. When we arrived to our room however we had an issue as when looking out all we could see was solar panels on top of the main building. For such a pricy room, we expected to have a least some sort of a view as this is where we spent most of our afternoon’s when the baby was down for a nap. Initially when we made the booking over the phone, we were told that as this is a deluxe room, we would have all alcohol included at no extra cost. We were also told we would have access to all of the restaurants on the resort free of charge. Hence the reason we went ahead with the booking as this was perfect option for us. However upon arrival we were told this is not the case and that we only had 2 tokens to try the Brazilian and Mexican restaurants and after that it would need to be booked and paid for. We were also then advised that the only alcohol that was included in our stay was local alcohol and all imported ones were needed to be paid. We were told that from November the hotel changed its policy and what we were initially sold was no longer included even though we booked before the change. Of course we were not happy as we were sold something that was false. We We spoke to the manager Lorena who rectified everything for us. From a room change, to allowing us to have what was initially sold to us over the phone with regards to alcohol and access to the Mexican and Brazilian restaurant as much as we liked. Lorena also went above and beyond for us by sorting out our baby’s food menu so when we arrived to the restaurant our food for the baby was brought out right away. She would also check in on us on WhatsApp to make sure everything was okay for us. What started off as a disappointment of a stay, to one where we will absolutely return just because of Lorena who went above and beyond and done more than what was expected. We have had 2 family friends already book the hotel because of our recommendation. All staff members from the bar in the main hotel to the staff in the restaurants and buffet were absolutely spot on with the service and their help with anything and everything that was needed. A big big thank you to Lorena & we hope to see you again shortly !

Need more than one omelette station and perhaps would be better placed at the end of the buffet so those not wanting a omelette did not have to wait in the long queue We found staff to be very pleasant and helpful Only two cocktails on AI but eg.if you want a bloody mary just ask for vodka and tomato juice separately The Barcelo Mar in places was a bit tired This hotel is well placed for Pieros [ entertainment here was very good]and Irish Bar and lots of restaurants and shops Daytime entertainment - staff worked very hard but evening entertainment was not good at all [need live acts in keeping with other hotels] although the girls did their best dancing This is a family hotel and to be honest we prefer adults only hotels but apparently in this hotel there was a Royal level which we never found which was adults only On arrival you are given two tokens for the Mexican and Brazilian restaurants. The Brazilian restaurant was really good with a variety of meat dishes
