All the staff were very, friendly, very helpful, and made the stay a great experience. Check in was nice, I don’t remember a reception with chairs from any other hotel. The room was comfortable, clean, and with nice design. Breakfast was good and with a lot of personal attention. Location was perfect. Nice area, taxis in front of the hotel, metro close by.

I have never written a Trip Advisor review but this hotel was so top notch that I wanted to. It's classy, beautiful, pristine, with beds you never want to get out of. However the reason I wanted to write the review is the service, which was spectacular. My son and I arrived late and I had written a request for a room with twin beds, but there were none of those left and this had only been a hotels.com request, not a guarantee, and the hotel was sold out. Nacho at the front desk was incredibly kind and sympathetic. He did everything he could that night to find the person who could convert the bed. In Spain as in other European countries it is common for twin beds to be connected or separated depending on the preference of the guest. When that didn't work, he promised it would be fixed the next day, gave us two drinks on the house, and free breakfast all three mornings we were here. Now... guests... don't take advantage of poor Nacho. :-). But it needs to be said that in hiring such excellent managers, Barcelo is wise. I would also like to say that this extends to the front desk staff. Paula was truly helpful as well. Beyond this, the hotel has all kinds of little things that make your stay just that little bit better: - A button to press in-room for DND instead of that annoying tag you usually have to hang outside the door - A good restaurant - eggplant, patatas bravas, and surprisingly the pork buns were all good - Room service to 11:30 which is becoming increasingly rare even in many great hotels - Rooftop terrace - Actually nice views from the rooms - Those slippers and bathrobes that used to be a given in nice hotels but that nobody really seems to have anymore - Our room was actually spacious, with a couch and a long desk - Bathroom was truly spacious, with separated (excellent) shower, toilet room, bathtub, and main room. Also sooo clean. - Full kit in the bathroom including anything and everything you might have forgotten, instead of having to request it - again in my experience, which includes many top-notch hotels recently in major European cities, this isn't a given, and we actually needed this stuff. I could go on longer about Barcelo Madrid but you get the idea. Highly recommend.

Two nights here as part of a tour. Very clean, upscale yet understated hotel in an expensive neighborhood, wonderful breakfast choices with warmly welcoming staff, friendly and efficient check in and quick elevators. We called down to the front desk after checking in to ask our sink if basin could be fixed to drain faster, and it was done promptly. Turndown service ensured room in tiptop shape. Made use of the bathrobes, slippers and full range of toiletry products provided. Aside from the room being a little dim, enjoyed our stay here.

“Good”

I really liked it. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was on the smaller side but nice non the less. Breakfast was good as well. Dinner had some options but in my opinion limited outside of the wine selection Overall a good experience.
