“Short stay”

Nice place for a short stay close to the metro station. The room we had were spacious and well appointed and clean. For guests requiring an early morning checkouts they offer a comprensive packed breakfast.

“Hotel in superb location for city centre!”

Hotel was lovely. Clean and tidy. Exactly what was needed for a long weekend. The hotel was very busy and there was only one lift so a wait time. Our room was situated on 8th floor and was very warm. Hotel was lovely. Clean and tidy. Exactly what was needed for a long weekend. The hotel was very busy and there was only one lift so a wait time. Our room was situated on 8th floor and was very warm. We found the traffic outside to be noisy - not the fault of the hotel. Our room 894 had eves and this was a bit of a squeeze and bend. Found shower very small. Cracked paint in bedroom and pipe with damp in bathroom. Could do with some TLC. Hotel in excellent location!! Breakfast was great and staff excellent - thank you for a good stay

“Nice hotel, with a few flaws, not in the best location for us”

We had a good 3n stay here, on our first visit to Budapest, with a few flaws. It was a nice looking hotel with a lovely reception and dining area, but was not our favorite of the 6 hotels we stayed in over our 3w trip. Reception staff was great, very helpful and friendly. The free breakfast was very good. The room was modern, clean, with pretty decor, but a few design flaws: fixed hangars in an open shelf/storage area could not be slid or removed, limiting access to the luggage shelf underneath them; no closets; the bare lightbulbs are too harsh; minimal shelving in the bath; TINY shower stall with VERY slippery floor; thin towels; room was very hot and noisy from the streetcars outside. Our room smelled of sewage- I mentioned it to FD, and they said they would send someone up to check it out, and would move us if necessary. When we came back from touring, they said they ‘did what they could’, and left it up to us to say if we wanted to move. It seemed better that evening, but the next morning it was back, but since we were only there 2 more days, and were out all day touring, we just kept the bathroom door closed and didn’t ask to be moved.Location was not the best- nowhere nearby to get a meal without taking transport.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Hotel was nice and modern looking in the downstairs areas. We stayed in room 403. Spacious room and overlooked the main street which was noisy with the traffic and tram but this cannot be helped. No tea or coffee facilities in the room which I felt was strange and not expected for a “4 star” hotel. Bottle of water in the fridge on arrival but this was not replenished rest of the week as it seems from other reviews you have to pay for it. Bathroom was okay .. shower pressure was pathetic and bathroom towels of a very poor quality.. very thin and what I would describe as a large tea towel. Seems this has been mentioned in previous reviews and hotel had replied they would look into it but obviously haven’t. Breakfast was okay. Very busy and we tried different times of the morning. Items not replenished quick enough .. but staff were quick to clear and wipe tables. Hotel location is not great unfortunately. Felt very unsafe walking to/from the hotel and unsavoury people hanging around. Hotel quite a distance from the main attractions however so we tended to use taxis a lot. Hotel reception can organise the taxis first you. We did get a shady taxi driver one night coming back from the MVM DONE after a concert. We had paid 3700 HUF to get there but the taxi driver coming back had a meter running at exceptional speed and a 5 minute taxi journey he tried to charge us 46,200 HUF!! We questioned this and he just kept saying it’s after 10pm it’s night rate ..this equates to over £112 !! We argued this and said we would call the police we gave him 10,000 and he drove off so please beware. Lots of things to see and do and we used the hop on/off bus which was great it not always guaranteed a seat. We did the thermal baths which is a great day out and loads of other things. Overall had a great stay and enjoyed our time in Budapest..
