“Love this place and can't wait to go back!”

My family visited Tamaimo in March and it was wonderful. We enjoyed every minute of it, and cannot wait to go back. Let me just start by saying that I am a bit of a snob when it comes to holidays! This was a last minute booking (we booked 5 days before going) and it was booked as a cheap, needed get away at a hectic time! I wasn't expecting it to be amazing and had told myself not to expect too much, especially with the food! I was so surprised! On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the Tui reps were also very helpful and friendly. Always smiling and happy to help at any time! The room was spacious and clean, and was cleaned daily (except Sundays). The ladies cleaning the apartments were amazing! Had some lovely little chats with them. The pool area was busy, but we didn't struggle to get a sun lounger, we had to que a little for drinks but really wasn't that bad, 5 minutes max and that wasn't every time! The pool was cold, which is the only negative to the hotel, the kids didn't get in much as it was too cold. The tennis courts were free, we went almost every day! Great fun! Pool tables and ping pong tables are available to use too! The entertainment staff were so much fun! We played the games every day and had such a laugh! There was never a dull moment with them. They also do Yoga in the mornings which was great! We did watch one particular show, The Kenya Boys.... it was absolutely brilliant!! The food was really good, I don't usually expect much from all inclusive food, but it was really good, lot's of choice and fresh every day! My kids are fussy eaters, and even they were eating like kings! Fresh meats, fresh salad, fresh veg, fresh fruits, fresh bread, and the boys loved the churros! The location was beautiful, we like to walk so wasn't bothered by the 15/20 minutes walks to places and didn't get a taxi. We booked some day trips through the Tui rep, we went on a submarine, which was unbelievable! We also visited Loro Parque, I would highly recommend, was a great day out and the shows were amazing. Overall Tamaimo Tropical was one of the best holidays that my family have been on! I booked it last minute as I was craving some quality family time with my husband and kids, life was hectic and I needed to find some calm. That is exactly what we got! I wasn't expecting too much as it is only a 3 star rating, I honestly can not understand why! I actually cried because I did not want to leave. The staff were amazing, the entertainment was amazing, the food was unexpectedly great, the location was beautiful, and the rooms were clean, I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this place - except the pool was cold! We have booked it again to go back in February 2025 for 10 nights! I can not wait - and I get to be there for my birthday! I Look forward to being there again!

“Does what it says on the tin”

Read loads of reviews before booking and decided more good than bad so would give it a try. Cheap week all inclusive. Rooms are great, very clean, lovely bathroom with great walk in shower. Beds are a bit hard but that's personal choice, loads of wardrobe space, great balcony overlooking pool. ... more

Beds are a bit hard but that's personal choice, loads of wardrobe space, great balcony overlooking pool. Drinks are fine, everywhere is spotless. Food not the best we've had, but certainly not the worst, can always find something. Location quiet, a handful of bars and restaurants just behind the hotel but provides choice if you want to get out. Only our third day here but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Give it a try

“Awful Food Great Room”

The hotel is amazing and the pools are great but the food is genuinely the worst thing I have ever eaten. Somehow they struggle to make the most simple of dishes, even when we arrive at breakfast / lunch / dinner as soon as the doors open, the food is stale, how do you possibly make pasta stale s... more

The hotel is amazing and the pools are great but the food is genuinely the worst thing I have ever eaten. Somehow they struggle to make the most simple of dishes, even when we arrive at breakfast / lunch / dinner as soon as the doors open, the food is stale, how do you possibly make pasta stale so fast, the ‘Italian restaurant’ on site is carbon copy of the same stale food and not worth the fact you have to book it, it has cost us more money eating out than the hotel stay itself
