“Lovely family holiday”

We booked Blue Bay Hotel for our Easter holiday, after our original hotel cancelled the booking with three weeks notice! After reading the reviews, it was safe to say we were slightly nervous however our experience was brilliant. We were a family booking of 17! 9 adults 8 kids ranging from babies to teenagers. Our experience on the whole was great, the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant food and poolside snack bar always catered something for everyone - not one of us went hungry! The entertainment was also brilliant for children. The mini disco and evening shows were fun. Our children (and some grown up children) had particular fun when the pool float came out! The only slight negative was some of our apartments were tired looking. Some have recently been renovated so perhaps they will all be freshened up soon. There were also tiny bugs in some of the rooms. But each room had a bug spray and they really didn't cause any issue. We would recommend this hotel (bearing in mind it is a three star hotel and would love to come back!

“Blue bay hotel is very good”

The rooms are very nice and clean but they are small.the swimming pool is very nice and big and I even look how there is a slide.When I go down to the football courts I stay there all day because I love playing football so muck that I hope I get to go back

Just back from a 5 day stay at the blue bay, flight and transfer excellent only 20 minutes, hotel average its a 3 star so i guess you get what ya pay for, food average, although we never went hungry good selection still. Alot of pork dishes, friday night was my favourite chinese type.dishes curry spring rolls, etc, the muscles were really nice and the prawns, desert selection poor. Snack bar chips, burgers, hot dogs salad, pizza one day but gone in a flash and not restocked, said none left when I asked,.so mainly.went in to.eat at restaurant, as more choice, Drinks were okay. Lovely area short walk to the beach and shops and restaurants, nice walk to the square, lots of nice places to eat out, had a lovely english breakfast at hammys round the corner, and an Italian at the square El.Patio, but best to book if you want a seat on the terrace, they were very busy, food was delish. My son had amazing waffles at waffle boys near the square, lovely friendly guys who have the shop, the little beach is beautiful were u can see all the fish they swim around you, market at the square on a Friday night, walk in 15 mi s or taxi for 3 euros, mainly bags and crafts nice jewellery, fake stuff, football.kits for 35 euros although u can buy them online for half the price. Pool was very cold but it didn't stop.us it was 27 degrees so nice to cool off but took me some time to get in, my son and partner were straight in, sea was just as cold.no.warmer but still.went in, pool.was very busy and be aware the sun bed lady takes the towels off if ya not sat on then when reserved at 10/11 o clock, witnessed her taking towels off, only right I think when some looked unoccupied most of the day. We never got up.early to reserve them only.when going for breakfast, We couldn't keep.room on and sadly no facilities to get changed either but we managed in the toilets down near the gym. Emailed few weeks before to.request a pool view but we got a view of the football.pitch instead, very quiet on a night time. beds rock hard, few ants in room in kitchen but didn't bother us, water in fridge on arrival, had problems with the safe and had to get them out to sort it out, shower head didn't work properly and wasn't very powerfully, but we managed, 3 star reviews for a 3 star hotel, we usually do 4 star and were surprised as we had a great time, staff could have been friendlier, never asked when checked out and handed key in, if we had enjoyed our stay etc, customer service goes a long way, and i think staff could be friendlier. and animation team, which you dont see much compared to other hotels. the little.kids seemed to enjoy the night time.disco and running around, but not.much for the older kids, my son was looking forward to football but nothing was mentioned or maybe we missed it. There's a pool table and table.tennis. we opted to go for a walk most nights and then have a few drinks in the bar.

“Okay but wouldn't return”

First impressions were good, check in was quick and dinner was still on so we weren't hungry. Staff were mostly friendly and the food service staff worked amazingly hard as it was busy! First impressions were good, check in was quick and dinner was still on so we weren't hungry. Staff were mostly friendly and the food service staff worked amazingly hard as it was busy! Food- average but we always found something to eat. Pool snacks were okay but birds kept trying to eat the food so not at all hygienic, staff just moved the birds off but didn't get rid of the food. Drinks- good range and self service beer and soft/hot drinks were good. Cleaning in the rooms- beds were made but nothing else. They took towels away but didn't replace them. Reception were happy to provide new ones. Pool- absolutely freezing which was disappointing as our children couldn't even swim in it. We bought them floats so they could at least be on the pool. Most others did this too. Entertainment- not enough space for everyone to see the evening entertainment. The pool bar could do with being open in the evening as there was no atmosphere at the lobby bar. The most disappointing point of the holiday wasn't the hotels fault at all- children of all ages being allowed to run wild, swearing, shouting etc. The children were also helping themselves to food and drink and were not supervised- putting lots of people off certain things e.g. puddings! We went with our two children who are certainly not angels but still had to follow rules we set. I imagine this is the case most hotels though. All in all it was an ok holiday and our two enjoyed it which is all that matters really. But we really wouldn't recommend staying here!
