“Perfect Gateaway”

Very calm, perfect for a gateway. Many convenient shops nearby; like living in an island inside an Island. Impeccable service, luxurious rooms, and serene lake views. Super big pool & exquisite breakfast make it an unforgettable retreat. Highly recommended!

The hotel is absolutely massive, yet the grounds are totally immaculate. There was building work going on during our visit, but it did not detract in anyway from the pleasure of our stay. We had a grand Laguna room, 3902 for a week, then 3904 for a night return, before onward travel elsewhere. Both were perfectly adequate, but both needed updating as they are dark and tired. The pools are enormous, but have literally thousands missing tiles, which undoubtedly will annoy many. It didn’t annoy us, but the hotel do need to address this, as it’s definitely becoming a problem. Nu, the concierge was by far the most professional and helpful member of staff. He should be in management, not his current role. He was the only one to regularly ask how our stay was and if we needed anything. It was him that sorted a problem with our air conditioning, not anyone else. He’s a superstar. The negatives! There’s only two. The worst part of the entire place is the reception staff. They seem disinterested, they were not helpful, didn’t seem to care that upon arrival despite travelling over 24 hours, and despite it being after the allotted check in time, that our room wasn’t ready. They left us sitting for well over an hour with no updates. After the second time I complained, amazingly a room was found, different to our initial allocation and was right ready. It was of no surprise that when we came back to this hotel after a week in Phi Phi, the same farcical, totally unprofessional reception team did the same again. We were after the allocated check in time, but yet again no room and no idea when it would be ready. It’s not good enough, especially considering the place was less than a third full. The other issue is also linked to reception. Upon arrival they ask you for a 1000 baht a night deposit on a card. This is to cover any drinks/food you might have. We did this, yet they then tried to charge us twice and it turned into a real challenge to prove to them we’d paid it. It again was the reception staff, who really just seemed not to care. Wake up Angsana . Your hotel has massive potential, yet your reception team are really poor. You need more like Nu!!! I should also add that breakfast was superb and the beach was really good. Overall we’d recommend it, but they simply must improve the reception experience.
