I have been to Barcelona many times and this was my first time that I stayed at this hotel. Needless to say, I will always stay at AC Hotel Gava Mar few days before my flight back home in the future. The proximity to the airport is a huge plus for those who have an early flight or flying into Barcelona late at night. It is about 10 minutes taxi ride from the terminal to the hotel. The taxi ride costs around $21 and in my view, it’s well worth it even though it seems short. I understand that there is a bus that takes you about few blocks from the hotel, but I do not think it is wise if you have suitcases and with time constraint. I had a full Seaview room which was breathtaking. The beach is within walking distance from the hotel, and you can hear the waves if you choose to have your windows open. If you wonder if this hotel is out of the way from everything, it is. There are restaurants nearby; however, none of them were opened during my stay. This hotel is in a neighborhood which I absolutely love because it’s away from the madness in downtown. There are a few supermarkets and a few coffee shops that are within walking distance. The room is decent, clean and functional. Everything worked. I have been to almost 60 countries and never had I stayed at an “airport hotel” as nice as AC Hotel Gava Mar. For those that have never been to Barcelona, you might find this hotel way out of the city. You will not get the flavor of Barcelona if you stay here the entire time. There is a bus nearby that will take you to downtown. This hotel is perfect for people that have been to Barcelona a few times and like to stay close to the airport. I would not recommend this hotel if this is your first time to Barcelona with the expectation of experiencing nightlife, cultures and landmarks.

“Nice location. Newly renovated”

The hotel has just been refurbished, my room was brand new and immaculately clean. Bed comfortable and lots of space in the bathroom including slippers. The hotel has just been refurbished, my room was brand new and immaculately clean. Bed comfortable and lots of space in the bathroom including slippers. Great location close to the beach, lots of options to take a walk. I ate in the restaurant and they recognised my birthday with a surprise desert and cava. The food was delicious. Close by to the airport I’d definitely stay again.

This is a very adequate property for a night’s stay before or after a long flight. Our room was ready early which was nice. It was clean and comfortable with a good shower. There are no amenities offered if you are a Bonvoy Elite Member other than 500 points or a €10 voucher toward lounge food. There is no gymnasium as well. It is a beach front property with an easy one minute walk to the beach. The neighborhood boasts several good restaurants and stores as well. We took a two mile stroll south along the beach boardwalk and found a great set of restaurants which were full of people enjoying food and drink for lunch. It serves its purpose but do yourself a favor and get out and explore the e boardwalk.

While the location of the hotel by the beach is unmatched, the rooms and the amenities or the lack of it, is disappointing. The rooms lack an espresso machine or even a simple water kettle. The rooms didn't have an Iron or an ironing board either. For two people, we got One bottle of water only ... more
